Not accordiing to those who worked with him instead of just reading right wing headlines.
No wonder he couldnt decide whether to back Brexit or what to do when he had played schoolboy pranks on a public who were largely uneducated about the EU.
He couldnt lead a Scout Troop out of a half acre field if it had more than one open side.
Imagine what state the UK would be in if the attention hadnt been turned by Covid.

He got the call on leaving the EU right. He also got the call on what to do about Covid right but was derailed by Sage (principally Neil Ferguson). Once Ferguson had said that hundreds of thousands would die unless we locked down Boris basically was forced to lock down, which was the wrong decision.
Boris won an 80 seat majority but his problem was that the Tory party is split and he couldn't always rely on support for policies. In particular a lot of Tories didn't want to leave the EU and made life difficult for him. Also the Speaker didn't want to leave the EU and of course the Labour party didn't want to leave the EU. Given all the opposition he had it was a massive achievement for Boris to actually manage to leave - especially after Benn's Surrender Act.
Long after nonsense like Partygate has been forgotten history will regard Boris as one of our greatest Prime Ministers for the act of leaving the EU alone. He was a great leader who was brought down by Leftie pygmies.

You are having a laugh - the whole purpose of the enquiry is to show that the Tories were inept and that Lockdown would have been successful if only it had been done sooner, harder, stricter etc. You were not expecting anything else were you?  |

Over 200,000 did die, even with lockdowns. Who knows how many would have died without them... Probably about 200,000. ...or how many would have been saved if they had been properly enforced. Probably none. But something had to be seen to be done. |

No, it's made up of civil servants and advisers who want to get their own back for being sacked. The whole enquiry has lost its way - even though it's only just started. This shouldn't be a blame game - it should be an attempt to LEARN from what happened. The fact is that no one knew how to handle this pandemic because they were dealing with a new type of virus. However it should have been obvious to people with a brain that there would be huge cost to Lockdown (both financial i.e. furlough, and in health terms). As I said the costs of lockdown had to be considered in terms of NICE guidelines and the costs were vastly greater than any "treatment" (whether it be drugs or furlough) than anything NICE would agree to. As for "The Truth", the witnesses so far have been people who don't even know the basics. Macnamara was especially stupid. How on Earth did someone like this become a top civil servant? |

The problem is - which should be obvious - is that we've severely damaged our economy (and the culture of the whole country) by furlough (paying people to do nothing while WFH) and we now have a legacy of a very large excess death rate. Lockdowns are still killing people. I don't expect you to be able to understand this though. |
