Funny you should say that part two. According to the solar farm planners there will be sheep grazing around the solar panels . Not only that but there will be a shit load of ‘ bio diversity’ around too. Around our village there has been a lot of pockets of land planted with different types of plants suitable for bees and butterflies etc .I suspect they could be used to grow crops after the solar panels are erected . I don’t imagine that net zero will stop farms producing meat . There are huge parts of our fields here used to grow ,hay, straw and animal feeds ( as well as biofuel) , its pig , sheep and chicken city out here . One local farm has an emu ! However hopefully Monte will notice and post . He knows a lot about farming stuff. Bentley, it's not exactly a secret that the EU want to close down farms. Did you miss the farmers protests in Holland, Belgium and France earlier this year. It is also no secret that Starmers left wing government are very pro EU or that Monte is a raving lefty. “The European Union has approved controversial plans for the Dutch government to forcibly buy out livestock farms as part of plans to cut nitrogen emissions” Im pretty sure I’ll see pigs , sheep and chickens for a while yet. |

Funny you should say that but there are a lot of farmers around here and one of them ( a councillor afaik) that lives near me owns some of the land that the proposed solar farm is going to be built on . He is getting stick for going along with it ..but …he reckons that farming pays shit money and I believe him . He will get a fee or rent first leasing the land and that will help the family pay the bills . Its a bit of an insight living in the hayseeds . As for the inheritance tax , it’s going to shaft a lot of farming families . Net zero will ensure farmers are slowly pushed out of business and behind closed doors governments are on board with it, not just in this country but across Europe. It's been happening for a few years, we're being slowly pushed towards veganism, kids and clueless lefties are brainwashed with bullshit about cows farting pose a threat to humanity, as if eating a nut cutlet could somehow offset China burning 4½ billion tonnes of coal a year or Putin launching nuclear weapons. Maybe they will kick start more production in the US. The West needs to make stuff and not import it from Asia .. They'll only be able to sell it if they can produce it for less than Chinese imports cost with tariffs. Unlikely without automation which needs huge investment and doesn't create many jobs. Reagan's globalisation comes home to bite them in the ass. I thought that was the point , to make Chinese products more expensive so that the US can compete. Tough in the short term but probably better in the long term . A product produced by automation in the US will have more added value for the US than a product built in China . The West exported its production base to Asia from about 50 years ago ..as you say it’s bitten us in the arse now. |

They want their land for wind/solar farms.
