And that’s problem with hardened people like you that you just want to wring their necks. I do not want to 'wring' anyone's neck. However, in cases where there is no question of guilt the judge should have the option of donning the black cap. And I’m not a handwringing lefty but like a lot of the civilised world reject capital punishment.

It wouldn't stop them. Deterrents don't deter or countries with death penalties would have no murders. You think the next mentally ill guy with a gun in the US is going to stop and think ''but what if I end up in a prison without brightly coloured soft furnishings'' and decide against going on a killing spree? The death penalty was not designed to be a deterrent. It was designed to be a punishment. And that's the problem with hand wringing lefties today, they have forgotten that prison first and foremost is supposed to be a punishment. No it is not. That is Victorian thinking. Prison is intended to keep society safe from criminals. Lucy Letby will never again harm a child and that is what matters not how unpleasant you can make her next 40 years or so in confinement.

They look like daycare centres where some lefties are fighting for the protection of a serial baby killer. Is it about her or them? Exactly. Some people have completely lost their moral compass. They have more sympathy for the killer than they have for the killers victims. You are making that up in you head, easier to do I know than look beyond your own prejudices. Whats this now reduced to handwringing lefties and theyre protecting serial killers.Easy to wheel out the lefty woke trope than discuss.

However, Red has mentioned (several times) that he wasn't looking for capital punishment. I'm not looking for capital punishment and so far only Vinny has even hinted that he'd support it in this case. I don't understand why he's wrong and you're right. It's a complicated subject and one that shouldn't be limited to feelies or political point scoring.

If you believe in capital punishment, it would be hard to imagine a more serious case than murdering seven defenceless babies. Hard to see why you wouldn't want it in this case unless you think its OK for the state to kill men but not women.
Other people believe that it is simply morally wrong and would be demeaning for all citizens for the state to deliberately end the life of a human being - albeit one who has committed heinous crimes - for no reason apart from revenge.

So he was joking when he said a judge should have the option of donning the black cap. Vinny hinted bit more than a hint I’m not looking to score any points,I didn’t say I was right either but I do disagree,do you think you’re right? Anyway I see some other former colleagues are sceptical of her guilt and are being vilified in the press, can’t have people not toeing the line can we? www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12440411/Nursing-colleagues-Lucy-Letby-insist-innocent-working-hospitals-baby-unit.html

I honestly do believe it's just another bandwagon for collectivists to wave banners for. Tony Blair didn't give a damn when Saddam was hanged, and he led the party who is supposed to be against all of that. People don't seem to have a problem when the government orders people killed outside of the country as part of some invasion, and you rarely hear a peep when governments are in bed with countries that would chop off your head for questioning the existence of the invisible man, which leaves me to question what sort of BS illusion of morality we actually live in.

Wingnuts only talk in Daily Mail headlines or rather GB News headlines these days. Like Pavlov's dogs trained to react when they hear a bell, or a dog whistle. Slathering at the mouth for an opportunity to regurgitate their trained responses.

Interesting you mention Blair, and I believe and it’s just an opinion he’s responsible for thousands of deaths but never attracted the hate this has. Seems it’s correct the bigger the crime the less it matters

Monte, the death penalty was abolished (For most capital crimes) in 1969, yet you claim the death penalty is not a deterrent which suggests present tense. I said the death penalty was not designed to be a deterrent, which is perfectly accurate. It was designed to be a punishment, as is prison. Unfortunately in my opinion, prison today is far from the austere regime it was as little as fifty or sixty years ago. Prison today holds little or no fear for repeat offenders which is why recidivism is so high.

I can function without being controlled by my emotions.

Would you prefer a cess filled cell with cockroaches in it for her, Red? As we abandoned the death penalty and hard labour, this is what we have instead. She could stitch a few mailbags. No, I do not think she should be incarcerated in a cess filled cell, although many people do. And since you mention the death penalty, if ever there was a case for bringing it back then surely, this is it. She and people like her should not be incarcerated in relaxed comfortable conditions. She is not just a mass murderer, she's the worst kind of mass murderer, she murdered and maimed babies and we may never know how many. At the very least she should be incarcerated under a very strict regime in very austere conditions. I don't agree with the death penalty on this one. Circumstantial evidence never really quite nails it, does it? 100% ?? I'm not saying she's not guilty though. The jury had all the evidence and a lot of time to decide.

Decades of ''bleeding heart lefty lawyers'' with their endless appeals at the tax payer's expense. Just so that a few ghouls can have their revenge. No thanks.
