Have they scrapped paying a government charge on purchasing the vehicle? They must have, I've never paid one. Or are you referring to the one-off bonus/malus payment based on emissions? It's around 15 years ago, Dan, but I remember buying a van and paying a one-off amount of around 400 euros.

I pay nearly two grand a year in road tax for my vehicles already. I think we are being fleeced quite enough. Its madness. I can only drive one at a time so my impact isn't cumulative based on the number of vehicles I have. And what's all this bollox about its the vehicle being taxed not the person, yet when you buy or sell a car the tax isn't transferrable anymore. One of my cars costs me £675 a year for goodness sake. Vehicle tax is a massive con. The UK should have roads paved with gold with the amount the government must be scamming from people via road tax and fuel tax. I couldn't agree more. Road tax (VED) and fuel duty is worth £35 billion a year to the government cheeky bastards, at least Dick Turpin wore a mask. And even though EV's damage roads more than proper cars, they're exempt from both road tax and fuel duty. Not for much longer. I thought EVs were about to be charged VED this year (or has jeremy the hunt chickened out)

They are CO2 neutral - the CO2 they produce from the vehicle is offset by the CO2 taken from the atmosphere in the production phase. All the major vehicle manufacturers are dropping EV's they have proven to be useless and just pie in the eco-zealots sky....They wont be missed.......Even JCB are now producing diggers and dumpers that run on Hydrogen. All these idiots who dashed out to purchase EV's have very expensive eggs on their faces. You do appear to wish for things and then believe them to be true. Which car manufacturers are dropping EVs?
Even Toyota's well-publicised anti EV stance has been reversed...
Toyota’s new chief executive has revealed his management team that he says will lead an aggressive push on EVs.
UK car production down but electric vehicle output surges to new record
Automakers Are Adding Electric Vehicles to Their Lineups. Here's What's Coming.
