I was using Google maps last week I live in Alderley Edge in Cheshire, I used the satellite image and thought fuck me Rayner will literally have a field day here, how long before it becomes a urban concrete jungle, that's Labours legacy to the coming generations.

No, you are: Until asylum is granted they remain illegal immigrants. Well that's wrong on two counts. 1) under international law, The right to seek asylum is a legal right we all share. It isn't illegal to seek asylum, because seeking asylum is a legal process. 2) Even under UK law, which violates the above international law, your statement is wrong. In UK law, anyone entering illegally is automatically rejected for asylum status - even if they are a gay person escaping Iran, so no illegal immigrants would be granted asylum. Under current UK law, a Jew who was smuggled out of Nazi Germany and into the UK would be rejected for asylum status. You just agreed with me, you imbecile.

Labour accused of 'putting illegal migrants ahead of Britons' in housing queue Labour has been accused of putting illegal migrants ahead of Britons in the housing queue amid plans to “scatter” asylum seekers across the nation. The government has struck agreements with councils on the number of asylum seekers who will be settled in their area in a bid to shift away from using large military sites.Contractors have been advertising on behalf of the Home Office for landlords with empty homes to come forward. Former MP Matt Warman said: “The damage this policy would do to communities will make hotel use seem trivial, and it will hit areas where housing waiting lists are longest hardest. It will put rocket boosters under discontentment.”www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1932799/labour-keir-starmer-asylum-seekers-hotelsAnd in other news... At least 271,000 people are homeless in England today england.shelter.org.uk/media/press_release/at_least_271000_people_are_homeless_in_england_today There are nearly 700,000 homes in England that are unfurnished and standing empty. Over 261,000 of these are classed as ‘long-term empty’. When we add in holiday short-lets and second homes, total vacancy sits at over 1 million homes, meaning that across England, 1 in every 25 homes is empty.
In the midst of a housing crisis, we cannot afford to waste homes. In England over 100,000 families are trapped in often poor quality, insecure Temporary Accommodation whilst many more rough sleep. Thousands of families are under stress trying to find an affordable home to rent or buy.
It’s time for action on empty homes.
Hackney works in partnership with landlords across the UK to help Hackney residents find homes.
Serco provides asylum accommodation and support services in the North West of England, Midlands and East of England.
Are some organisations set up to help the homeless missing a trick? And can we blame landlords for wanting to turn empty property into income...?

It just seems strange that there are so many UK homeless when there are nearly three-times their number of empty properties?
If Serco is able to attract landlords for migrants awaiting acceptance or rejection of their asylum claims, how come similar efforts for UK homeless aren't happening, or being given similar coverage...?

Are SERCO offering better guarantees which are government backed. A question for the government surely.

No one has said that ( legal)immigrants who work for a pittance to bring up a family should not be treated the same as an English person regarding housing . Try to keep up. I think you'll find a lot of people say that. Heck, on this very forum you have at least one poster saying British-born ethnic minorities shouldn't be allowed to hold public office. You really think people like that want legal migrants treated the same as British people?? I think you will find that they don’t . Including your example .

Call me picky, but I prefer something a little more traditional.
