The UK's problem lies with its Blue-Rinses and Col Blimps and the dog-whistle politics of the reactionary and elderly Right that chases their votes. Until it reverts to intelligent government peopled by world-aware sensible politicians, it's going to remain a small northern European offshore island with dwindling financial, services and tourist industries.
If the UK's youth wants free tuition, affordable living costs, the ability to work while studying, and many job opportunities after graduation, then Germany is the better option.
Sweden, and Scandinavia in general, has among the highest average salaries in the world. Sweden has similarly high salaries to Norway, its closest neighbor, but a significantly higher average than other nearby countries such as Poland, Estonia, and even Germany.
Cost of living in the United Kingdom is 15% more expensive than in Finland
The research data reveals that France is relatively less expensive than the UK to live in, and that the country enjoys its greatest advantage when it comes to 'rental costs'. This shouldn't come as a surprise, as there is actually much more space to inhabit in France as opposed to the UK.
The UK has possibly up to 10 years to turn itself around from returning to being a basket case...
You have no evidence that the UK is a basket case, or that it needs people who think like you to make politics "sensible". This is nothing other than sour grapes from someone who didn't get their own way in 2016, and therefore blames everything on Brexit. You place far too much weight and importance on the EU for Britain being successful in any shape of form. Britain made its first step unshackling itself from a regulatory empire. The future for Britain if it doesn't veer from the step is bright.

They have and I include the Tories under the remaniac banner .A remainer party led by remainers bar the 3 years under Johnson when Brexit was stalled by not only his own party but those in opposition with much of his time tied up in the N Ireland issue that PM May should have sorted out from the get go . The Leftwaffe in which we can include the civil service did their part in supporting the go slow exit . Johnson won an 80 seat majority with the promise of 'No deal is better than a bad deal' , he chose the bad deal ,in the end he was a remainer after all . The Tories were a remainer party? Correct, the government advocated remaining in the referendum, so not a surprise. Boris was a remainer? Also correct, he only campaigned for leave due to his PMly ambitions. But people thought they knew better. So who's fault was that? Fault? I guess it was Cameron who promised to and I quote ''Whatever you decide and whatever your decision I will do my best to deliver it" He ran away the next day so yes it was his fault . We have had what 4 prime ministers since then who have said they will in one way or another see Brexit done . Pretty useless the lot of them . Johnson appeared the best bet to get it done after that , the best bet of a poor field . We didn't really have a lot of choice though many of us had reservations that he would complete the job .

Actually I'd agree with that. I'd say if you are relying on Boris to do something, it probably wasn't a good idea.

You can see that Truss has been quite pretty when she was younger. Now she is beginning to look her age = old hag.

What the hell are you talking about? We voted for Brexit, we had Brexit. All The Best Delayed by a year by intransigent remoaning twats (one of whom is now Labour leader) who wouldn't honour our vote despite pledging that they would. It took another election to break the deadlock. IF true, proving what a shit idea it was for the Outerninnies to blindly vote for Brexit. No one knew what the outcome of a Brexit vote would produce. And the outcome so far still looks pretty vague.
