If not the NHS what policy area in Wales is going to be the blueprint for the rest of the UK?. perhaps education? So you don't have the answer, you just grabbed something you could attack Starmer with. If Starmer is not talking about the actual policies implemented by the Labour Party in Wales what is he taking as a blueprint? - Drakefords haircut?

Labour in Wales are even worse - so much for a blueprint for a Starmer Government...
Patients in Wales faced the longest waiting times to start treatment at an average of 81 days for radiotherapy compared with 79 days in Scotland, 63 days in England and just 44 in Norway. Waiting times for chemotherapy in Wales were also long at 58 days compared with 48 days in England,

Are the Labour Unions in Government? Did the Labour Unions choose to underfund the NHS for 15 years, and then choose to underpay the NHS Staff so they could bung Tax Cuts to their rich mates? Has the Conservative government had nearly 15 years to renegotiate Tony Blair's NHS GP Contracts, but CHOSE NOT to? Until you can answer No to all three of those questions stop fucking moaning and blame the real guilty party - The Incumbent Government. All The Best

Until you can answer No to all three of those questions stop fucking moaning and blame the real guilty party - The Incumbent Government. All The Best They have .... Members have overwhelmingly voted to reject the Government and NHS England’s 2024/25 GP contract changes More than 19,000 GPs and GP Registrars took part in the BMA’s referendum, with over 99% voting ‘no’
Read the press release on the results.
The final 2024/25 contract was put to a referendum of BMA GP and GP Registrar members in England. This took place from 7 - 27 March, ahead of any contractual changes being imposed on 1 April 2024.
The referendum did not constitute a ballot on industrial action and taking part in the referendum does not pose any risk to contractor, locum, salaried or registrar members.
The referendum result will not prevent the Government from imposing its 2024-25 contract but will send a strong and powerful signal expressing the profession’s views about the contract offer and will inform potential collective next steps.
Tony Blair has tied the hands of his own government and every successive governments hands ............ WHAT A PLONKER.

Well, isn't it funny that when it comes to paying bankers and CEOs etc it is "the market that sets their worth", but that same principle never seems to apply when it comes to paying NHS staff. If the BMA has rejected the pay offer then it is on the Government to negotiate with them to find a mutually agreeable solution. All The Best

Thanks to Tony those lucrative contracts are there to stay, and the Lefty Unions will make sure of that, in the mean time all GPs will send their patients to A&E and make sure they are clogged up ........ Good thinking Lefty Unions.... but fuck people dying because you want to play politics.

Well, that's rather obvious isn't it? They do not feel the new proposed contracts adequately compensate them for their work in the current market climate for people in those positions. Why is "market forces" only a thing for Execs, CEOs, Bankers etc? Why not also Doctors? I am willing to bey 90%+ people in this country think a GP is more important to society as a whole than any Banker, CEO or Exec - and they'd be right. All The Best

Some people in the NHS would like to go back to how things were during the last century. In 1990 my mother developed arthritis in her hands. She was 70, but otherwise healthy. Her GP said to her: "You can't expect much in the way of treatment at your age".
In 1984 an acquaintance of mine, age 74, needed a minor heart operation ... but he was "too old". His consultant set up a separate medical record giving his age as 67 and he got the op. When he told me about this he'd just celebrated his 100th birthday ... but his medical record said he was 93.

I am willing to bey 90%+ people in this country think a GP is more important to society as a whole than any Banker, CEO or Exec - and they'd be right. All The Best No, market forces do not apply to the Public Sector... that is the whole point of the Public Sector. If you work for the Public Sector you have SECURITY and a GOOD PENSION. When the economy is doing well you get good rises, when it is shit you get hammered by spending restraint. Unfortunately for the public sector they had a long freeze after the financial crisis. When finances improved the Agenda for Changes 2018-2021 deal brought in some big rises to start to address austerity, but then the fucking Covid Pandemic and our stupid lockdowns created so much inflation that they were back to square one again! It's easy to point at the Tories, but there are massive structural problems with the NHS model. Since Labour were last in power there has been some massive changes: 1) The population has grown by FIVE MILLION. 2) Since the 1970s the amount of people with obesity has increased year on year... so there are millions of people who have been fat for decades and are now getting heart disease, diabetes, cancers. 3) "Free healthcare" encourages a lack of responsibility for ones own health, instead expecting when we get sick the NHS will repair the damage. I would love the next Labour government to "fix" the NHS. However, I'm not hearing the radical plans that would solve the massive funding gap between what we demand and what we are current receiving. Has Starmer got the balls to tell people to stop being so fat, and stop eating so much shit? Has he got the balls to reform GP surgeries and dentistry? More importantly, has he got the balls to increase taxes to provide extra funding for the NHS? I'm not seeing any signs of any of this...

Taxpayers billed £100m for NHS translators - could pay for 3,000 nurses.... The £100million annual cost of ensuring NHS services can be fully accessed in languages other than English could pay for 3,000 more nurses, figures show. Taxpayers pick up the bill for translation and interpretation for hundreds of thousands of patients as NHS trusts and Integrated Care Boards routinely convert standard hospital and health literature into languages including Romanian, Arabic, Urdu, Bengali and Punjabi. link
