There is an article about cancer treatment in the NHS in the Mail. Waiting times for tests treatment are huge, giving cancer time to spread.
To get private treatment will cost about 25 to 50 grand, even then, the people who test are the same as the NHS, you will have to wait. The government pumps in enough money to treat you and your family, its a myth that the Tories dont put enough in.
The tories back the NHS as a vote winner, not because it does the job.
So where does all the mega, substacial money go? On admin. Will the Tories reform it?, no. My guess is that people here are older, many have cancer coming, my partner is dying being the NHS never checked her shunt. This is where the primitive, idiotic left gets you. And then saying this is good. Any state run organisation is a travesty, any private organisation is corrupt.
The NHS is killing people, do you care?...in more ways than one. Are you going to march on Downing street with banners saying " you are murdering my aunt". No. What is the answer? The answer to that is unpalatable, that whatever arrangement there is, it will fail because its run by humans. I watched my mother die of cancer at home, i nursed her, tumours the size of cricket balls, no support, and intramuscular injection, given by myself if needed. She lapsed into a coma, the doc said she wont wake up. She did, screaming in pain, she was dead that night.
Thats what some of you have got coming.

Why are people not "Up in arms" about this, or protesting on the streets ?
We have a situation now, where dialing 999 for an ambulance is like pulling the handle on a One Armed Bandit, its a gamble, an ambulance MIGHT turn up quickly, or it might not.
Waiting lists - up, waiting times - up, staff morale at rock bottom, people leaving the service, serious staff shortages. Childrens mental health services an utter disgrace, people with cancer living in fear at not getting treatments soon enough.
If we are lucky enough to rid the country of the Tory government, there's so much damage to repair and put right, so much neglect. Its going to be hard task to find the money to put everything right at once, but someone ( other than the Tories ) has got to make a start.

Stop talking in riddles, you know fully well and so do the lefty Unions and junior doctors that their despicable striking actions are costing lives, but guess what lefty .... they don't care.
Labour don't care about lives they use them to score political points, like the did with COVID, exploiting dead people and families to get a leg up the political ladder and make gains in the polls, that why the lefty Union junior doctors are striking and that's why because of their despicable actions waiting lists are getting long and longer, it's all political.

I read somewhere that obese people are more likely to have their cancers detected at an early stage than slim people. Doctors apparently regard obese people as more of a cancer risk than slim people.

A new government might rally the NHS workers a bit. Especially if they get more money . Ive seen a lot of NHS administrative incompetence over the last couple of years . I can’t say the same about the actual treatment though . That was pretty good . The NHS needs a new start .

I can’t say the same about the actual treatment though . That was pretty good . The NHS needs a new start . My wife has had non-Hodgkins Lymphoma low grade since 2010 and is currently losing her hair for the fourth time. Her treatment in Scotland has been excellent and in each case where it has reappeared it has been speedily dealt with although sometimes she has had to pester just a little but once diagnosed then the movement to treatment has been spot on professional and caring, She has been to Ayr, Crosshouse, Queen Elizabeth and the Beeston and apart from a few hiccoughs on occasion with annoying as opposed to serious mix ups all has gone well. She may have been lucky in terms of being into the monitoring and treatment regime in 2010 before the current crisis so is effectively an existing patient. We are both of the opinion however if she had had her diagnosis and treatment in her home area in England she would probably have died at one of the points where treatment was urgent.

All The Bst And speaking as a soom to be 67 year old, you can put another 13 years on that. The propaganda used to create it was shown to be a lie within a very short time indeed, the moment dental and optical charges were introduced at the point of use of the facility. I'm not going down the path that demands they be free, I'm simply pointing out the difference between the BS used to take the money to set it up, and the reality.

When the NHS was created on the basis that treating the sick would allow spending to fall, then it's hardly surprising that it has lurched from one financial crisis to another ever since 1948.

When the NHS was created on the basis that treating the sick would allow spending to fall, then it's hardly surprising that it has lurched from one financial crisis to another ever since 1948. but was that actually the basis of it's formation ? Prior to 1948 the decision on your continuing to live or dying generally lay somewhere in the sections of your wallet. Given the minimum sixty day wait for cancer treatment on the NHS versus immediate if you have the wonga it seems little has changed in that department
