Anything. Staff don't just need pay rises, they need the cavalry to arrive. The reason for all this bizarre behaviour is that managers are trying anything to keep staff happy because working in the NHS is sh1t3 Paint a few more crossings in rainbow colours - that will keep the staff happy. Royal Hospital Chelsea, home to the Chelsea Pensioners, has been awarded a £3.2million grant. This money could have saved lives in the NHS.

You begrudge health care for Chelsea Pensioners, that's pretty spiteful. I suppose it could be said they help to fund themselves because to become a Chelsea Pensioner you have to give up your pension which could be a couple of grand a month depending on rank. So unlike millions of people in this country who would pee down their legs at the very thought of military service, Chelsea Pensioners not only made contribution to this country that you are seemingly unaware of, but they continue to make a contribution to the very end.

You see? Nope you don't. I don't begrudge the help for Chelsea pensioners, one of my neighbours and a dear friend is now a Chelsea pensioner. And I have an open invitation to have a guided tour of the Royal hospital in London. My point was that you don't see extra help for Chelsea pensioners as a waste of money, because you like them. But you do see extra help directed towards LGBGT is a waste of money because you don't like them. So its not about wasting money is it? Its about what Red Rackham doesn't like his money spent on.

Why not? The spending for rainbows and excess diversity managers comes out of NHS funding - you constantly complain the NHS is not getting enough money but they have enough money to paint rainbows..

The NHS is not getting enough money. A rainbow painted on a road will make zero difference. There are two arguments going on here. One is NHS funding. The other is defining a waste of money. You keep prattling about tiny spends on things you don't like, that have virtually no effect on the NHS budget and that you have no understanding of or desire to understand.

Every spend has an effect and lots of little spends can have a large effect. If you have lots of little spends on things that have no real value in healthcare terms then some real healthcare will have to be dispensed with. I would have thought that was bleedin obvious.

The NHS is over politicised and money is wasted on the pen pushing waste of space that is its management. This has been the case for decades.

Same argument again. Little spends on things you like, perfectly reasonable. Little spends on things you don't like totally unreasonable. PTSD councillor for staff reasonable, Diversity Manager to help staff understand ethnic minorities unreasonable.

Of course it will make a difference - if you spend your budget on things that do not directly support patient care then for every pound you spend that is a pound coming out of patient care. One less diversity manager on £70k will pay for another 7 hip replacements - your refusal to understand that is quite frankly mind blowing. Painting a rainbow in the road will pay for 1 hip operation - ask someone on the 2 year waiting list for a new hip if they would rather have more rainbows or more hips.

It will make so little difference as to be incalculable. But lets save some more money. How about we stop wasting your consultants time explaining your cancer treatment and just get it done, its a waste of money explaining to a patient what their treatment involves. You could double the amount of patients they could get through. And get rid of the chapels of rest for dead loved ones, totally unnecessary, saves no lives, treats no one. Access for visitors, again produces nothing, wastes nurses and doctors time explaining things to relatives who don't need to know. All the things that make us human are a waste of funds. Biggest saving of all, end of life care, just slip em a pill and get them down to the furnace.

It will make so little difference as to be incalculable says the poster who is not on an NHS waiting list. But somehow I suspect that had you been waiting 2 years for a hip replacement then these policies that waste money that could be used for patient care would not be so irrelevant. how can you treat their cancer if you have just spent the money painting rainbows? might as well - then you could employ all bureaucrats you want without complaint.

It will make so little difference as to be incalculable Nope, because I don't think its rainbows that are causing delays. But 12 years of austerity. Poor dodge attempt. I'll agree to cancelling rainbows if you sign up to all the other heartless measures. might as well - then you could employ all bureaucrats you want without complaint.
