Appalling behaviour by Hoyle - his position is becoming more untenable by the day.

It would appear the speaker isn't doing himself any favours, he has refused an SNP request of an emergency debate on Gaza or an investigation into Labour dirty tricks. It would appear Starmer has the speaker by the balls, for some reason.

Of course not, but they can request an emergency debate if they so desire.

He may be, but he has done the right thing in taking care of MPs. Crap excuse. Possibly thought up whilst in conversation with Starmer (after the clerks were asked to leave). To make matters worse Hoyle promised the SNP that it was in his gift to provide another day for their motion to be debated. Only for him to renege on the promise (after meeting with Starmer one more time?). The Labour leadership was shit scared that upwards of 100 of their MPs would break ranks and support the SNP motion. Westminster once again showing its disdain for Scotland.

Even the Guardian commented on how he did nothing to control PMQ's yesterday as he has lost any authority over the House - he cannot continue like this
'If only the same could be said of PMQs itself. This was one for the masochists. An existential tour de farce that meant nothing. Just 30 minutes of mindless posturing. Exchanges that were cheered noisily but meant nothing. The speaker is badly damaged after last week’s Gaza debate – before, he would have at least tried to keep order; now he lets MPs do as they please.'
