Let's be fair, you know everyone though right?
From Clint Eastwood in Hollywood to Kipling's Gunga Din in the East.

I won't be watching it. Qatar is a dictatorship. Going over to another country and getting pissed and pushing LGBT will just be portrayed as decadence in the Muslim world. It's an affront to enlightenment, and a shameless claim of western superiority. Something I am sure many would object to, as they do, if the situation was reversed. Its very simple, I don't go on holiday in countries that forbid alcohol. I don't go on holiday in dictatorships. I will not support a dictatorship and supporting the world cup being held there supports a dictatorship. Muslims can do whatever they want with their own bodies, but when they force their religion on others, I take issue with that. I don't force them to drink beer or eat ham. Theocratic or not, dictatorships are unacceptable.

If you disagree with the stance of a particular country towards a particular issue then just don't go there - trotting off there and then criticising the country when you get there is an appalling way to behave. Years ago it used to be common courtesy to take account of any of the local customs in overseas places you visited - now it seems that people think it fine to insult the locals because everything is not the same as it is back home.

I presume you know the poem since you made reference to it. It's about how poorly the British treat the little brown men from the countries they've invaded until they go over the top behind them and plug their wounds when they get hit. There's some interesting parallels between it and the NHS today if you've the wit to work them out.

Well said. Actually I was thinking about the union jack shorts morons who go to Spain and do lewd things in front of the Catholics who live there.

Mr Lineker taking the opportunity to discuss the issues of women's rights in Iran at halftime. The Iranian men refusing to join in with their national anthem in solidarity with the frails. Seems the BBC is capable of criticising Muslim nations after all.
