If you dont like the EU's FTA's, which the UK would have had to approve, drop them. No one is forcing you to keep them. Though it is true that the couple of teensy ones you did do, dont benefit the UK. But do cut that umbilical cord and be really sovereign. Go on. I dare you. We're improving on them. Now stop your whinging. Except you arent. The government has stopped revising EU law. I suppose your new legislation on clean water is an improvement. 😨

You're just bitter.

And you shouldnt bother what the EU does since you voted to leave it yet not a day passes without some new thread or reference, snide remark and usually completely factually wrong.
You just cant accept you have left, prowling around trying to buy back what you voted to leave.
Its fantasy lives in your head. You cant let go of discussions 7 years old, reliving them over and over like some lunatic old men reliving the war. And each time the reality is worn thinner so that eventually the real facts become an illusion, a vague form with no detail.
You left. So stop discussing what the EU is or would do. You got what you wanted, didnt you?

We do - but we dont make enough. Hence the imports from places like Ireland. All that is going to happen is that we are swapping Ireland as a supplier for Australia. And the energy and pollution costs of the distance. Bonkers. And for no mature serious reason. Well the reason is that it is cheaper - if the EU producers reduced their prices they would out compete the Australians. Why should the British housewife pay more just to support EU farmers?

The EU doesnt need to reduce its prices. There is a big enough market for it at the price asked. You just said you buy Irish beef....that is supporting the EU. Now you want to further pollute the planet by importing from as far away as possible because someones sold you a big bag of lies. Utterly ridiculous.

The EU doesnt need to reduce its prices. There is a big enough market for it at the price asked. Oh dear well i suppose I should thank you for the biggest laugh ive had in a while. Those of us old enough to remember the day Ted Heath dragged us into the EEC will recall the meteoric rise in food prices caused by the Common Agricultural Policy that demanded farmers be paid massively more than the market price for overproduced items which were bought by the state using the tax paid by everyone else and put in butter and beef mountains and wine and milk lakes which were sold on to various african states. An EEC or EU official wouldn’t know a market price if it bent him over a barrel and butt-fucked him. If the EEC had been forced to sell the food that its farmers produced at the price the market outside the EEC set, French farmers would have been revolting in defence of their nice little earner….

People will not be buying Australian beef because of lies - they will be buying it because it is cheaper. And in a cost of living crisis, every little helps.

There is zero proof that Oz beef will be cheaper. So you dont care about net zero and air pollution. And are happy to eat defrosted meat. Cost has many definitions.
