As I’ve pointed out this issue has been known for decades,the idea that it’s only come to light over the last few years and when they stopped using it tells a story that only someone with a modicum of intelligence would see it for what it is. It was used because it was cheap,the industry and some civil engineers have admitted they should’ve spoken out earlier so they the politicians of various administrations are complicit too and this is why I highlight short termism,they do things and don’t give a stuff about the consequences because they’re no longer around and Sunak for all his real failings on other issues has become the fall guy for this. As already said the idea this has been a major issue only a handful of years is ludicrous,it was a crap product with a known life of 30 years and that it being a risk of collapse has only recently come to light is a diversion. A good analogy would be that heart specialist are told that a brand of heart pacemaker has only a useful life of five years they do some research and decide they’re not really that much of a problem until after them being in use for over twenty years one fails and the patient dies. To then say it’s the fault of those in position a handful of years would be be seen through as rubbish by anybody with half a brain. |
