Which is why it needs stopping. Apple should pay tax where apple operates. They do... there are more taxes than Corporation Tax lol. Corporation Tax is a political tax, nobody in the real world cares about it... because it is a tax ON A PAPER FIGURE, and companies can decide what that paper figure is!! I've told you this time and time again, you go to any tax collection office and there will be 99 people collecting the real taxes (income tax, national insurance, capital gains, dividends tax etc) and there will be 1 person working part-time on corporation tax... and they will spend half their time fending off local MPs and business leaders who want non-paying companies to stay in their area to provide jobs and spend money in the local area. If corporation tax was an ON PAPER FIGURE why would Ireland reduce its corporate tax rate to attract them there. Why would corporates move their HQ's to such countries

Companies are under no legal obligation to make a profit so its really shitty tax for bringing in income. Also governments are very wary of taxing companies because it becomes a tax on investment, jobs and research and development. The problem with many on the left in this country is that they like to throw out words like morals, decency, fair share... yet THEY NEVER talk about the UK having one of the lowest tax burdens in the West. "I want xyz, but I want somebody else to pay for it"... where is the morals and decency in that? lol.

Companies are under no legal obligation to make a profit so its really shitty tax for bringing in income. As the MD of a company I can assure you my PRIMARY obligation is to make Profits. You maybe surprised to hear this but the primary concern of business is not how much tax it pays. Surely ALL business tax should be on profit? Why should a business that's losing money pay virtually the same tax as one that's making money. What? Investment can be offset against capital gains. Oh do lay off with the leftie thing. I am a Capitalist, I own a medium sized company employing around 120 people. Some leftie eh The rest of your sentence makes no sense, why would a Leftie want the lowest tax burdens? What us Lefties want is the tax burden to fall on those who can best afford it (Myself included) Where's the morals in I want xyz but I want someone else to pay for it. Well let me explain. When I set my company up it was in a country with Laws, minimal corruption and a stable economy, a well educated and healthy workforce, a good transport system. There was a health service in case I got ill and a safety net if my business went bankrupt. I was also made aware that in return for all this, if I made a success of my business I would be expected to pay more than others and the amount I would have to pay was pretty clearly laid out. THAT'S WHY. Now I could have set my company up in Colombia with very low taxes and none of the above. But I chose not to.

They may throw these words around, but when it's clearly self-serving they rarely demonstrate these qualities themselves. I would take it all with a pinch of salt and treat it as all talk to try and win over a few naive youngsters.
