Someone summed up lockdown, it was like setting fire to your house to get rid of a wasps nest.

But it was what Parliament voted for on your behalf, pretty much unanimously.

I really hope we are now collectively settling on the notion that what happened was a massive and costly over-reaction - not just for this country but the entire western world.
Did we all notice how it was immediately grasped as a political weapon? - do we now feel bad about that?
Do you recall all the tedious arguments about which country had the most spread and therefore the most evil administration - all based on dubious and variably collected data?
-how the public conversation was hystericised with the accusation of murdering old people by not closing down absolutely everything?
Btw - all this happening after it had become clear that covid, while bad enough to warrant some special delaying action, really wasn't bad enough to warrant closing down the country for a year.
What a shit show - let us just hope we never have to work together as a society against a really bad threat.
Nul points imho..however, if we can learn from this

I don't think the next time round, if there is one, the sheep wont follow as easily, I think most of us realise we were conned.

But it was what Parliament voted for on your behalf, pretty much unanimously. When people say Covid ruined the economy, they are 100% wrong. It was the massive government over-reaction which ruined the economy, just at the point we needed to ignore the virus. Boris was right The collateral damage is much worse than the lockdown benefits. Excess deaths are still running high because lockdown did not: Protect the NHS or save lives in the long run. Who could possibly have predicted this? The excess deaths from breaking the NHS, ambulance service, and cancer treatments have far outweighed any lives saved. So the anti-lockdown rebels are vindicated, Sheepy. We should be proud. Even though it is a tragedy created by idiots.

We are doomed as a species.

Strange that the undertakers were never overwhelmed by it all.

So the argument is, the shed was on fire so we used the fire extinguisher and the shed didn't burn down therefore fire extinguishers are pointless? We are doomed.

Also strange that an NHS, told to prepare diligently for an 'end of days' scenario, had so much spare time on their hands that they created thousands of medium scale theatrical / dance productions.

I remember Nigel being ostracised for suggesting the lockdown was a waste of time and that natural immunity should be the course to follow.

If any NHS staff whistleblower came forward to say 'what pandemic', we sit about all day twiddling our thumbs, they got the boot.
