white trash nounDEROGATORY•INFORMAL poor white people, especially those living in the southern US.
White trash is a derogatory racial and class-related slur[1][2] used in American English to refer to poor white people, especially in the rural areas of the southern United States. The label signifies a social class inside the white population and especially a degraded standard of living[3] It is used as a way to separate the "noble and hardworking" "good poor" from the lazy, "undisciplined, ungrateful and disgusting" "bad poor". The use of the term provides middle- and upper-class whites a means of distancing themselves from the poverty and powerlessness of poor whites, who cannot enjoy those privileges, as well as a way to disown their perceived behavior.[1] Wiki. Outdoor scene of a man and woman seated on chairs in front of a group of ten children of varying ages, barefoot and wearing simple clothing This poor white family from Alabama was presented in 1913 as "celebrities" because they had escaped the debilitating effects of hookworm disease, which, along with pellagra was endemic among poor Southern whites due to poor sanitation and the phenomenon of "clay eating" or "dirt eating" (geophagia). The term has been adopted for people living on the fringes of the social order, who are seen as dangerous because they may be criminal, unpredictable, and without respect for political, legal, or moral authority.[4] While the term is mostly used pejoratively by urban and middle-class whites as a class signifier,[5] some white entertainers self-identify as "white trash", considering it a badge of honor, and celebrate the stereotypes and social marginalization of lower-class whiteness.[1][6][7][8]
In common usage, "white trash" overlaps in meaning with "cracker", used of people in the backcountry of the Southern states; "hillbilly", regarding poor people from Appalachia; "Okie" regarding those with origins in Oklahoma; and "redneck"
White trash UNCOUNTABLE NOUN [with singular or plural verb] Some people use White trash to refer to poor White people who they think are worthless. [US, offensive, disapproval] ...a place peopled by illiterate poor White trash. Collins

That is an insult that is aimed exclusively at white people. But it's not racist. It's anti-racist. Popular culture depicts 'white trash' as racist hillbillies. Okay, let's compromise. Going forward, I will describe Danny as a Redneck racist. Happy?

You don't think Mahatma Gandhi could be considered a benefactor for his role in bestowing democracy on the Indian people? Apologies for saying your posts conjure up images of dentally-challenged, mulleted white trash. They conjure up images of dentally-challenged, mulleted rednecks.

So what do your studies of Hind Swaraj and other contemporary primary sources tell you about Gandhi's proposals for Indian democracy? I haven't had the pleasure of reading it. I agree with the parts you've quoted, though. Shock! Horror!
I guess that means you won't be familiar with Gandhi's thoughts on Western Civilisation then either.
I'm beginning to question your bona fides as a self-styled authority on the British Empire.

Tying people to cannons and blowing them up is bad enough. But it gets worse when you understand that the intention was to mix the remains of the murdered with those of other murder victims, so that the soul of the murder victim would not be able to gain peace (according to Hindu religious belief). I've no intention of going through all the atrocities of Empire with you, Danny. There are just too many. The really sad thing is, the British people weren't treated much better.
