This largely stems from a generational shift where a culture of childhood was built upon 'entitlement'. This is what makes them believe they are more important than the process; this was what made many of them believe their vote was worth two of older folk.

Are you related to Jeremy Corbyn - he also thought he had won the argument whilst leading Labour to the biggest loss in 75 years.. What are you saying -- You now accept the fact that particularly in elections, winning the argument does not mean winning the vote? |

There will be a generation of kids through schooling being told they are Europeans and Europe is the way forward and so by omission GB or UK is old or backward.
Add to that business types will always look to expand and other rich people will likely look to have their second homes on the continent.
Would not be surprised if things change again some years down the line yet maybe by then Europe will have changed too.

Every country on the planet seems to want to and do band together with their neighbours. So, Europe (in the EU sense) is the way forward and isolationism is, indeed, old and backward. Because that's what you're saying, really, isn't it? -- Isolate the Brits as distinct, separate from Europeans. If it is profitable, businesses will always expand even to the ends of the earth -- that's the nature of business and there really is nothing wrong with having your second home on the continent. Regular pensioners enjoy their mass-produced villas in Spain; rich, plummy-accented English people love their renovated chateaux in France. What is wrong that, particularly, when you hear stories of locals resenting affluent Londoners for "taking over" the village? But the bottom line is that you seem to want all of us to embrace identity politics. Vote for someone who matches your own identity -- culture, skin colour, nationality, etc. -- without considering his arguments or what he's actually saying. |
