I always apologise even when as in this case the cat really is to blame. Having to contort myself and getting back ache posting Ahh the cat ploy, superb. Actually I suppose in the spirit of harmony, I have to say I understand. Our cat likes nothing more than to slob on my desk, her front paws can touch the keyboard which has on occasion caused me some considerable frustration. Not to worry. Btw, that cat looks remarkably like Rædwald! Is there something you would like to tell us?.. Dunno. His name is Cobnut, we've had him for 7 years since he was a tiny rescued 4 week old we (originally) fostered and for most of that time he's refused to sit on my lap in the house but demanded it on the seat up the garden even in freezing cold weather. But since Christmas he demands to sit on my lap in the house too and there has to be a blanket on it and he will demand at times he types on the keyboard and of course I have to have my back twisted so he has prime space which probably is why I effed up the copy and paste of the link. Love the little sod to bits.

Love the little sod to bits. My comments ref Rædwald were in jest. At a glance Cobnut looks like Monte's cat, Rædwald. Cobnut! Of course cats rule the roost, we used to have a dog, our beautiful Rotty Jasmine, but the cats, we had two at the time, ruled the roost. And you didn't 'eff up' the link because of Cobnut, you 'effed' it up because you're clueless.

Anyone who talks plainly about this issue will be removed from office. If this is the case, it suggests that large parts of the problem are deeply embedded in government and there needs to be a clear out as a matter of urgency It's not that she talks plainly about the issue it's that she plainly goes for dog whistle ethnic stereotyping It pissed with rain all day here....

No This thread is about the character of Suealla Braverman so her apparent double standards is clearly germane. That depends, i think. Is the person responsible still part of the organisation. I’m not sure what's being alleged here, you see. I mean, my brother joined the Mormons after hearing about Joyce McKinney … Lots of religions have leaders with dodgy sex angles. Are the (alleged ?) perpetrators still running the show ??

It's true to say that Steve and I have had our battles over the years and it would be fair to say we rarely agree, and tbh I wouldn't have it any other way. Steve's a lefty and I'm an all wise centre right oracle of wisdom and I know he secretly looks up to me. He has a grudging respect because he knows I'm his superior. But I don't like to rub it in, so if you don't mind I would rather you didn't mention this little chat.

Well loads of people say it does Because they are looking for reasons to attack Braverman as opposed to dealing with the problem. Racism is the easy option, has worked well for twenty years and is still the useful tool. The problem will not go away what has to happen is show beyond doubt that the perceptions held are wrong. There is another aspect the 'Pakistani' gangs seem to be the only ones that choose to go outside their own ethno-religious group in that they choose non Muslim as their victims, Sikhs have noticed this for years but maybe they are racist too. The racial element alone would normally see high level inquiries, there does seem to be a fear of what will turn up if proper investigative stones are rolled over. Yes. They are far more concerned that something doesn't appear racist than they are about the actual issue - I.e. the very same attitude that allowed the problem to be ignored for decades Also the crime's group nature and the apparent proportional prevalence in the Pakistani community is very concerning because it suggests strongly that the behaviour is low level tolerated within that community.

Steve, I think you may be losing the plot. It was you who brought Buddhism into the discussion. By the looks of it I would say he's popping a lot of pills

No it’s yours . If you belong to a religion that has a history of sexual misconduct then you can’t say what she did . You do know the founder of Islam had sex with children dont you? Do read before you post tripe
Big difference in belonging to a many stranded religion that has seen some of its figure sexually abuse and a niche one where its founder and ethos setter was a sexual abuser. It seems you don’t.^ According to Steve, it’s ok to belong to a hugely successful that is hundreds of years old and spanned the world if it’s founder was a sexual abuser but not if it’s a small religion that is far less successful. You tried to pull an ad hom out of you arse to unfairly discredit Braverman and failed miserably. But at least you tried 😉

I'm not quite sure what that report is saying. It says that looking into the race (they mean religion) of offenders "runs the risk of stereotyping" the crime, but the fact that most of these offences are perpetrated by muslims is EXACTLY the point. And it's not just a marginal effect. Muslims are vastly more likely to commit this offence. THAT's what makes it necessary to investigate why. That's how science works. If you find an anomaly with one set of data you look for reasons why. That's how science advances. In fact in this case the reason for the massive over-representation of muslims in this crime is blatantly obvious to anyone who's ever read the Koran or lived in a muslim country. The PROBLEM is that no one want's to face up to the fact that we have an "enemy within" who are intent on destroying our culture by any means possible - and our government and the BBC are afraid to even talk about it.

Ahhh, at last. Well done. Quote from your link... ... In comments following the Rochdale grooming scandal involving nine Muslim men, the Conservative Party co-chairman admitted that race was a factor. She urged Muslim leaders to address the issue and ensure that men who regard white women as 'third class citizens' are isolated by their communities.
Nine Muslim men, mainly of Pakistani origin, were found guilty last week of plying girls as young as 13 with drink and drugs so they could 'pass them around' and use them for sex.
She now calls Braverman a racist? Perhaps she hopes people have forgotten what she said a few years ago. I don’t see what Warsi said a few years ago was either wrong or negates what she has also said recently. At the time of the former statement, much of the public was appalled at the revelations about the grooming gangs. Since then, it’s become apparent that child grooming and sex abuse isn’t confined solely or primarily confined to groups demonised BNP/Britain First/EDL. What I find distasteful is Braverman, herself a woman of colour, trying to advance her standing among the racist elements in her party and the wider Right-leaning electorate by using her barrister skills to concentrate on and blame one group of child abusers and intentionally ignoring the greater and wider problems of child sex abuse…
