True. But the glaring question is why she wanted the bill to be undebated. Ooh let me think - a Government not wanting the opposition to set the agenda, why on earth would that happen. Set the agenda. Don't make me laugh. Because they thought they would lose any vote and Liz would face more humiliation.

So you think the opposition should decide what business is brought before the House? - have you actually sat down and thought that idea of yours through?..

No, I think the government should grow up and discuss what needs to be discussed with the whole house.

Are you outraged , Red, that your confidence just seven days ago that fracking will not be banned under the Conservatives has proven to be wrong?

Then why did Liz Truss have to do such somersaults to stop the vote going ahead? I already answered that - to ensure that Labour didn't take control of the business agenda for the House.

Are you outraged , Red, that your confidence just seven days ago that fracking will not be banned under the Conservatives has proven to be wrong? Outraged moi? Perish the thought. I don't think I said I was confident fracking would not be banned under the Conservatives, did I. Fracking was banned in 2019, I think you may find that was under a Conservative government. I am however disappointed that Sunak has decided to change his mind. During the recent hustings debates he was absolutely unequivocal in his support for fracking. Anyway, the door hasn't been completely closed on fracking. Sunak said he will stick to the 2019 manifesto pledge that said the government would not support fracking unless the science showed it could be done safely. Believe me, anyone who thinks fracking has gone away is kidding themselves.
