The result of the vote seems to have been overlooked due to at least one allegation of bullying. So for the benefit of anyone who missed it, the question asked of MP's was: Should the UK ban fracking for shale gas. The result: Yes 230 No 326 No votes 101 Motion carried, fracking for shale gas will not be banned.

Think I would wait and see what the next new PM says about fracking. I’d be amazed if anyone wished to continue with it tbh.

I'm sure we'll see how everyone feels if the power goes off in winter.

The new PM and his/her cabinet will decide about fracking.
Hard to see them seeing this as a fight worth taking on.

I'm sure we'll see how everyone feels if the power goes off in winter. Precisely.

The vote in parliament yesterday was just a parliamentary device to heap more pressure on Truss. Her mismanagement of it hastened her demise.
With a new PM in place in a week, do you expect fracking in the UK to commence in the foreseeable future?

It was designed to appeal to the politically illiterate to try to put more pressure on the government. Quite frankly you should know better than to bring this up as you are obviously interested in politics so have the knowledge to understand that no government votes for cynical opposition bills. Unless of course you are going to provide a list of times Labour agreed to proceed with Tory bills when they were in power? Good luck with that... No community is going to have fracking in their backyard, so it really is a pointless topic. Who the fuck would vote for earthquakes, the poisoning of their water supply, and the destruction of their house value? lol.
