Fracking has been safely used in the United States since 1947. More than 1.7 million U.S. wells have been completed using the fracking process, producing more than seven billion barrels of oil and 600 trillion cubic feet of natural gas. And that gas is being liquified and sold to us by the Yanks. Kerching! Win win for USA. At several times the price of Russian gas,so who else is winning?

The vote should have been declared null and void due to Tory thugs manhandling MPs into the no lobby. The ring leaders being Mogg and Coffin Coffey. Manhandled by those two, the stuff of nightmares. Those Tory thugs have a lot in common with SA brown shirted thugs in a Munich beer hall.

How much of a useless twat would you have to be to allow yourself to be 'manhandled' by an old granny like this?

The government has debated and voted on the issue. Having said that, I suppose in good old remainiac tradition, you want another vote? Ah yes no doubt they will want a vote without the bullying and threats. Bloody snowflakes. Well said ZG, I feel you're finally getting on board

The Chinese were, whilst they were importing LNG from Russia and exporting it to the EU, which was one way of avoiding the sanctions. However, my point is that fracking can produce vast quantities of gas which if we got on with it in this country, could help make us energy self sufficient. Wind farms will only help make us self sufficient, well, when it is windy. Come settled cold weather in the winter, we may not have enough gas to generate electricity. One thing to be avoided is the fracked gas being in the hands of private or multi national companies, which could sell the gas abroad - that must be prohibited, unless we have enough to export and keep ourselves warm.

I agree. The thing folks need to remember is that carbon neutral does not mean no Gas or oil. So why not make the 20% we will always need come from our own soil.

Tragic Truss clearly said "if the local communities want it".
No community is going to want it, so it is merely a token gesture to shut up the people calling for it, so they box it off and claim they are going all they can.

Didn't she try to turn it into a confidence vote? She did, then she didn't, then people started arguing in the lobbies lol. ..but again, it wasn't a vote on allowing/banning fracking... it was a vote of whether a Labour bill to ban fracking would be allowed debating time.

I remember a move to Gas for power stations, perhaps in these desperate, or desperate to be times, the odd coal fired station might be necessary.
