Fair do's if you know better. What do you think has caused the chronic problems within the force? Abandoning the policy of recruiting good men with common sense and a height above 5'8'' in favour of recruiting 50% men and 50% women and concentrating on "diversity" above the necessities of a police force, for a start. When I joined up, a senior officer visited the applicant at home to assess the stability of their situation - now deemed discriminatory, no longer done. Shortly after I joined up, one of the new recruits was found to be associating inappropriately with another man. He was dismissed as not likely to become an efficient or well conducted constable - absolute no-no now of course. (Reg 13) He would be put on fast track promotion in charge of diversity now! Since operation "Countryman" there has been a moral decay and a lowering in disciplinary standards which has come from the top down. Mixed answer here. On the whole you seem to be saying senior officers new their men better. Which is good. On the downside you appear to be saying that being gay makes you a bad policeman? Operation countryman found widespread corruption within the police and over 250 police officers were forced to resign. How did that in your opinion lead to a lowering of disciplinary standards?
