Sports personalities are now lining up to support Gary Linekar, including the co-hosts of Match Of The Day, who have said that they wont "fill in" or host the programme. Any person who works for the BBC is fully and totally entitled to a private life, which includes personal and private opinions, and if such people post their opinions on social media, it has nothing what so ever to do with the BBC.
It does when their employment contract with the BBC specifies that their social media output should not be political. That would make sense, do you have proof of your comment?

I am very pleased to see this morning that many are now lining up behind Gary Linekar in full support of him, including many pundits, presenters and celebrities.
But not only that
Players and managers are also looking into boycotting MOTD
There are now so many people boycotting MOTD that it may well go out tonight with no commentary, no presenters and no interviews.
I am afraid that the TORY RUN BBC has bitten off more than it can chew this time - they wont win this fight, and they will either back down or the 60 year old icon of British TV will be axed or taken on by another broadcaster.

Whereas stopping illegal mass immigration is a good thing because, it stops criminal enterprise overwhelming the legal system, it stops questionable charities taking advantage and using criminals as a support base, it stops the flow of money out of the system that could have been used to support local services, it also saves society being stressed by crime waves and women being treated like purely objects of desire. But hey don't let common sense get in the way of a good old political wool pulling exercise.

This is a good thing because ?
It highlights a basic fundamental floor in how the boss of the BBC is chosen or picked
We know that most people have sympathies towards one political party or another, but this is a ridiculous situation where a populist Tory Prime Minister appoints a member of the Tory Party, who has made big donations to the Tory Party, to be the head of our state broadcaster.
Even those with poorest eyesight can see through this

Gary Lineker taken off air by BBC as star steps back from Match of the Day BBC have confirmed Gary Lineker will not present Match of the Day this weekend and say his social media posts were a 'breach of our guidelines', but sources close to the presenter claim the decision to 'step back' from the show was not a joint one.
*Please note for purposes of the outraged lefties the link is not from the DM
Would you have asked for Lineker to be suspended if he'd said that all Asylum Seekers should be deported? I would be quite happy for all TV commentators and presenters to be told to keep their political views to themselves. Other than political pundits , of course.

Do I agree with what Gary said on Twitter? No. Do I think the BBC is in the wrong? Yes.
Unless of course he’s signed a contract saying he’ll avoid political posts on other social media platforms, I can’t see how anyone in their right might would believe what he posted on his personal Twitter account was the view of the BBC.

Maybe but the BBC has given Lineker a higher profile and a bigger platform that he would otherwise have ( plus a lot of money). If he is going to abuse it by posting false or at best controversial political opinions then he should be checked .
