Do I agree with what Gary said on Twitter? No. Do I think the BBC is in the wrong? Yes. Unless of course he’s signed a contract saying he’ll avoid political posts on other social media platforms, I can’t see how anyone in their right might would believe what he posted on his personal Twitter account was the view of the BBC. I would assume, not hope that it is written into all contracts, the BBC if funded by the general public, hence they are answerable to the general public.
I do not want to contribute my licence fee to a political platform which would be the BBC, hence the reason they should be politically impartial, otherwise they could influence to outcome of general elections, and btw I also include all political parties, if Lineker was promoting the Tories or Lib-dems I would say the same thing, the BBC will be on dangerous territory if it starts to interfere in politics.

If Gary had said that while he was on match of the day I’d agree or if he was being interviewed by a news paper with regards to his role within the BBC I’d 100% agree.
However he wasn’t, it was on his own personal time and his own private Twitter account.
If there’s something about it in his contract then I’d also agree.
Just my opinion, I’ve no real skin in the game here but I value free speech and there’s not a single person alive who could look anyone of us in the eye and honestly mistake his private Twitter posts for the opinion of the BBC.

In comparing the Government to 1930 Nazi government is absurd.
Lineker is an idiotic and self indulgent tosser, he has an agreement with the BBC which he repeatedly breeches, and now equally absurd highly paid presenters are supporting him. Making statements of likening people to Nazis is bordering on hate crime and Lineker should be thoroughly ashamed of his infantile comments.
A good clear out of leftie wokists in the BBC is overdue, and now it looks like the idiots are doing it themselves, good stuff.

It will be interesting to see how this gets resolved.
This could harm the BBC which ever way it goes now, those wanting Lineker back vs those that don't and either group might move to the why do we fund the BBC via the license fee.

Fair comment, but I think it was the tone of his tweet, when you mention the word 'Nazi' it has instant racist connotations, and to use it to have a dig at a political party is even more controversial, I don't think the BBC had any choice but to suspend him, as I believe if Lineker got away with it his tweets would become even worse.

It's good to know they all support our shores being invaded. We have no idea what or who is on these boats but that's obviously too much for Lineker and the rest to take in. BBC mutiny: Football Focus, Final Score and Fighting Talk are AXED as hosts Alex Scott, Jason Mohammad and Colin Murray pull out while Mark Chapman and Dion Dublin boycott Radio 5 Live in protest over Gary Lineker's Match Of The Day removal Both Football Focus and Final Score are set to be axed from broadcasting today Gary Lineker was asked to stand down following controversial 'Nazi' tweet www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11847561/Alex-Scotts-solidarity-Gary-Lineker-sees-pull-presenting-Football-Focus-today.html

LOL ... he doesn't want them anywhere near him, and he doesn't want his mansion devalued, which it would.

I'm pointing out, that he never used the word 'Nazi', people can infer whatever they want, but the person to ask what they meant by that, currently is free this evening, so you could reach out and ask him on Twitter

I wonder if a rival TV company might offer them a way out of this with money changing hands of course.

It was Germany in the 1930's - Nazis came into power in 1934. Throughout the mid 1930s, the British Union of Fascists adopted the sentiments of fascism being voiced in Germany, with Mosley himself saying that “fascism can and will win Britain”.
British fascists also took on a more vehemently anti-Semitic stance, describing Jews as “rats and vermin from the gutter of Whitechapel”.
It's true the UK never came under fascist rule, but large numbers of people in Britain were swayed by the inflammatory language at that time — and similar language, with claims of swamping, bringing disease and housing estate riddled with crime and violence, is being used now...
