So where is the BBC's impartiality then? In the pocket of the Tory party. You wouldn't think so to hear and watch BBC presenters.....You only have to watch them drooling over the lefty layabouts they intervue to verify that fact...

I was a great fan of Question Time, then the leftie BBC closed down Lawrence Fox because he dare stand up to a racist audience member who said to Fox .. 'how would you know, you are white privileged' ... Fox replied .. I feel offended as I believe that is a 'racist comment'. The BBC dropped him like a hot potato.

The BBC has shouted its preference for the Tories ever since the government threatened to interfere with the licence fee and bring down the BBC. The BBC is now exposed as the Tories' political poodle the entire country is forced to pay for. And then uses "impartiality" as an excuse to silence those who challenge tory policy.

I have alqays thought that any media outlet so closely controlled by the governments is unhealthy.
Ages ago i found its news programmes insipid and now prefer ITV which investigates in depth such issues as the poor state of social housing...the BBC would never touch such stuff.
I would be happy to pay a licence fee as long as the BBC did NOTHING of any political content and concentrated on its fabulous documentaries, music and arts and educational programmes.

I'm a bit disappointed when I saw the thread-title and I was expecting something really wonderful news and it turned out to be something completely unimportant.

Two more new stories on the woke beeb.....This truly is a case of the tail wagging the dog... BBC 'could have to pay millions' if they sack Gary Lineker, bosses fear: Senior figures 'believe they would lose any legal claim under terms of his contract and can't force him to follow social media rules' - as MOTD2 is now in doubt amid BBC 'Armageddon' Last night's football programming was in tatters amid the growing BBC feud Today's MOTD2 is now in doubt after Jermain Defoe pulled out of his pundit role www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11850051/BBC-pay-millions-sack-Gary-Lineker-bosses-fear-MOTD2-doubt.htmlGary Lineker is set to be allowed to RETURN to host Match of the Day in a BBC U-turn - as Beeb boss Tim Davie hails 'outstanding broadcaster' and admits 'success for me is getting him back on air' BBC look poised to allow Gary Lineker to return as Match of the Day host On Saturday night BBC director general Tim Davie appeared to be backing down Match of the Day was reduced to 20 minutes without pundits or commentary www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-11849399/BBC-look-poised-allow-Gary-Lineker-return-role-Match-Day-host.htmlEntertainingly, the former mayor of Newport (a ceremonial role involving chain jangling, with no actual political power attached) was on arsebook pointing out how interesting it was not to have the commentary and maybe it was time for new sports shows where the sport is more important than the pundit … He’s a Tory of course…. To be honest, i don't watch much sport and in fact i don't watch much tv. I find all the prattle utterly boring. Years ago before streaming there was a red button service on freeview that gave a choice of audio streams at sports, including one for the five nations i think it was then, that just had the voices of the players, the ref and the linesmen. I would deliberately choose that as it was the nearest to the ‘at the pitch’ experience when attending the game.

I will if you'll fund the £500 million we are giving to France to clamp down on people trafficking. Well maybe the political mouthpiece formally known as 'Gary Linkeker', used his privileged status and BBC platform to highlight who is to really blame for the plight of these illegal boat people then maybe people might support him, but he is blaming the UK government for a problem that clearly lies at the feet of Macron and the French government, who is cahoots with people traffickers.
If it was the other way round the UK government would have closed the England to France Dinghy shuttle service a long long time ago, Macron is made-up he can offload them all to the UK. Could be something to do with all the wars we have started and are sponsoring others as we speak.

When did you last see anyone leftwing on question time? people like Galloway have been cancelled,to say the BBC is left wing is total garbage, only a rightwing extremist could think that.

I've just read that half a million more viewers tuned into MOTD without the presenters than usually do.
I think that Lineker can safely be dispensed with. Don't you?

As things now stand, it looks as though matters may be resolved to Gary Linekars satisfaction ( and the satisfaction of all who oppose the Tories grip on the BBC ).
But further more, there is as a result of this fiasco, an independent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the appointment of Richard Sharp.

Yes - now that the BBC have caved to Lineker then if makes the position of Richard Sharp, Tim Davie and the Licence Fee all untenable.
Interesting times
