Ash regan talking tough. Liking it already.
Ash Regan MSP @ashtenregan 50%+1 of combined votes from pro-independence parties in any WM or HR election is a clear instruction from the electorate that we commence withdrawal negotiations from the U.K. Independence - nothing less

The more interesting question is what does she propose to do if Westminster says 'nah - we dont recognise the GE as an independence referendum"

Westmisnter didnt recognise sinn feins 1918 GE democratic mandate , irish indy still happened .

Yes - if she is willing to declare UDI Scotland could be independent. I have yet to see the SNP articulate this as a policy - perhaps you can encourage them?

As the majority of people in Scotland wish to remain in the UK I can't really see her jingoistic rhetoric getting her very far. How can she commence withdrawal negotiations with Westminster if they choose not to talk to her. Is she as dim as Sturgeon? time will tell.
As Westminster is legally the only entity that can authorise Scottish Independence I can't see how that is a sensible statement, unless you go UDI and you don't have the bottle to do that.

The only people who can legally authorise scottish indy is of course the scottish people. The sovereignty of the english parliament at westmsinter is an english consitutional principle that has no counter part in scottish law.
I repeat , the vast majority of countries around the world were told by westmsinter they wouldnt legally be allowed to leave their empire until reality stared them in the face. When enough scots want westmisnter out , the party will be over.
Meanwhile we just have to listen to englands brightest like you and vinny on forums such as this talking about the return of empire and sid james waffling on up the khyber pass. I am liking ash regans no nonsense approach.

and of the last three polls on the indy question ....
Unionists and doomsters in despair as two out of three new polls show Yes on almost 50% of the vote - and one of them is a POST-RESIGNATION poll
Should Scotland be an independent country? (Savanta / The Scotsman, 15th-17th February 2023)
Yes 49% (-) No 51% (-)

That was my question - what does she propose to do if Westminster refuse to commence withdrawal negotiations because they dont recognise a mandate gained at a GE (rather than a referendum). At some point the SNP are going to have to grow a pair and state that UDI is their policy.
