Except the Labour Party doesn't have a Tony Blair. Thank goodness, many of our current ills are due to his premiership. Devolution, education, selling all our gold reserves, immigration ( "to rub Tory noses in it"), no, I don't think that he would be a winner again. I don't blame righties for having a go at Blair he was obviously better than the previous two Tory party leaders. He corrected or improved most of the problems he inherited from the Tories. Unfortunately he couldn't buy back UK gas and oil or the many other thing sold off by the Tories.

how old fashioned. The right?
England is the only country in europe that im aware of that still operates the outdated two party so called left right system.
Modern politics goes way beyond the simplicity of left right ideology. Many traditional lefties in the north of england such as lancashire were of course pro brexit .
There are plenty left wingers in the disunited kingdom who will be upset when the right wing blairites of labour take control at westmisnter.
Oh France has become very similar too, to stop the Right the left leaning vote goes to the Centre. So they have become a two party state and this explains why we have are largely a two party state. No you are confusing the two party westminster system with frances two round system.
France has something like 36 parties represented in their parliament. Now without a doubt the french system produces highly disporportionate results , and is often ridiculed for it , but its nothing like the two party westmisnter system.

If the gap between Labour and the Conservatives was 10%, it would be a hung Parliament with Labour by far been the largest party, and so they (Labour) could very easily keep the Tories out by going into a pact with the Lib Dems, thereby not only keeping the Tories out, but the SNP too. However recent polling for the last three months has not been a gap of 10%, its been a gap of 20% The most recent poll published today ( Friday ) by "People Polling" shows a colossal 29 point lead for Labour, and most polls in the last couple of weeks do show the lead widening. I just cannot see any way back for the Tories, it feels like 1996 again, and the approach to Tony Blairs record, historic win. Imagine a three way coalition, Labour, LibDem, SNP. I know, it's the stuff of nightmares, and far from impossible.

Labour bottle it again as new election poll shows Tory fightback is on Story by Jon King • 1h ago
The polling shows the Liberal Democrats down a percentage point at nine percent, Reform UK remaining at six percent and the Greens staying at five percent. Redfield Wilton's voting intentions polling finds Labour leading by 21 percentage points, five less than one week ago. When those who say they do not know how they would vote in a General Election are included, Labour leads by 19 percent. After weighting by likelihood to vote, 14 percent of those sampled say they do not know how they would vote. This includes 16 percent of those who voted Conservative in December 2019 and five percent of those who voted Labour.

This senseless lawsuit could bankrupt the Labour party and let the Tories win again Story by George Monbiot • 56m ago You might imagine that nothing could prevent a Labour victory at the next election. The Conservatives could scarcely have done more to alienate voters and destroy public trust. Everyone knows that in this ridiculous first-past-the-post system, the only party in a position to replace them is Labour. Many will vote accordingly.
But there is one major obstacle: the Labour party. It seems determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. How? By pursuing a civil lawsuit alleging breach of contract against five close associates of Jeremy Corbyn, whom it accuses of leaking a highly sensitive report. The report, 860 pages long, was written to be submitted to the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), which was conducting an inquiry into allegations of antisemitism in the Labour party. It included WhatsApp messages between staff members in Labour headquarters, in some cases containing grotesquely sexist and racist comments. It alleged sabotage by a faction in Labour party HQ opposed to Corbyn’s leadership, and claimed that this obstructionism prevented complaints from being swiftly addressed. Following legal advice, the report was not submitted to the EHRC. It was leaked to the press in April 2020.

Can we have some evidence of the above?

Parts of that report were released, thank God it was,it exposed the criminal racist filth on the right of the Labour party who were hell bent on taking Corbyn down and losing the 2019 election that enabled Bozo the clown to win,and today Starmer was on TV ranting on again about how he stopped anti semitism said to be infesting the party under Corbyn, that smear is ongoing.

It's the Europhiles who lost Labour the 2019 election. It was Murdoch and fellow travellers who won it,in fact i don't think Murdoch has lost an election.

25 years ago when Blair won the election there was a great deal of optimism about the future. It was considered as a dawn of a new better era.
Nothing like that this time around. If and when Labour wins next election people in general feel things are getting worse no matter who is in the government. There is general apathy prevailing.

The second place will be held by the SNP, which is incapable of gaining more than 59 seats, unless of course they put up a candidate in Corby. This means that if an election were held today, Scotland would be back to being run by the Labour party, which is pretty much as nature intended
