Unfortunately it is not a distortion . Your lack of maturity is obviously from absorbing a leftist doctrine from the far left . You post is probably confirmation of just how that right-wing waste of space Thatcher stayed in office for 11years. The fact that you see me ( or anyone who doesn’t think like you) as right wing ( I’m not) indicates that you must have a lack of maturity that comes from extreme left wing doctrine . Something that repulsed the electorate so much that it resulted in Thatcher staying in office for 11 years .

Interesting that a discussion about what the Tories need to do to improve their poll ratings has become, "yeah, but what about Labour". 🙄

My post did not claim you were rightist, the point being made was the affect of politically biased propaganda has on the electorate. Your false analogies plus your lie about me, fails to understand that you will be judged by what you post. Your above attempt to blame Labour for Thatcher's 11 years exposes your rightist position. Your failure to understand that Thatcher was so bad the Tory party couldn't wait for the penny to drop for the electorate so they dumped her themselves.

This is meaningless until the next election cycle kicks off.

I never mentioned Labour. This is a thread about the Tories. I know you aren't capable of discussing them.

Edit BTW have you informed your boss?

A statement which renders your OP rather pointless. Why would he break a habit of a lifetime?.......I haven't see a valid point in his posts yet Most of us are still waiting for one in yours.

At what point will the .. quiet concern ... turn into ...Blind Panic ? Which Tory MP will jump first, who will put in a letter to the 1922 committee, which newspaper will switch sides, who will plunge the knife into Mr Sunak's back. I reckon you would get fantastic odds with William Hill or Ladbrokes on the Tories winning the next election. William Hill offering 10-3 Tory win. Labour 2-9 odds on with Reform, UKIP and Lib Dems all at 200-1 Tories slightly worse than the 4-1 they are giving on Trump to win the next US election. Desantis at 3-1 and Biden at 5-2. sports.williamhill.com/betting/en-gb/politics

om14 ... "If Labour did get in we must think about what happens next, we see Thornbury, Raynor, Lammy and other left wingers in the shadows, once Mr Reasonable has won the election this lot will quickly give him the heave ho and suddenly we will see a Government that makes the SNP look competent" ---------------------------------------
There are not enough Labour MPs of the silly Left to orchestrate a coup, the membership is now overwhelmingly Centre Left, as against outdated Left. Momentum, the Corbyn supporting faction is all but bankrupt, and the party is now firmly under the control of the sane.

Electoral Calculous wotking with Savanta, and using polling data have produced their estimate of where votes were shifting and moving ( December 2022 ).
The biggest movement of votes is FROM Conservative TO Labour
The second biggest movement of votes is FROM Not Voting TO Labour
The poster "andrewbrown" is correct, in that 50% of all votes migrating from the Tories are going to Labour
Reading between the lines, I would say that MPs such as Jacob Young Con (Redcar) and other Red Wall Tories are doomed.

I'm sure that's true, but is it enough to rescue the Tories in less than 2 years? What Sunak does in the next two years might be . Agree, that was the question that I was posing in the op. I think he has a number of things to do: Prove that the government is competent Prove that the government is not corrupt Prove that the government is governing in the country's interest Resolve the public sector pay disputes Stop creating divisive legislation, such as id cards for voting Have what the country considers a competent economic plan He could get some luck too, such as Russia leaving Ukraine, or energy prices reducing. Johnson and Truss could not do the first three. I think it is more possible under Sunak, but he needs the other 2 to shut up and give him a chance.

What do the Tories need to do to improve their rating before calling the next election? Stop trying to be New Labour and start being conservative.. i think barring a miracle , and of course with keir starmer as your oppostion , miracles can and do happen , i personally dont think you have a cats chance in hell winning any election with sunak and hunt in charge.
The tories are looking like a burnt out wreck , worn out from the last 13 years in charge.
Clearly many of them have cold feet abou brexit , and now johnson has gone , is the party returning to what it was pre 2019 in being largely remain backing group of politicos?
They seem clueless , out of touch , out of ideas and basically are nothing more than a zombie party/government .

Indeed, and with a general election next week the Tories look doomed.
