So atheists will see it as predominately a Christian Parliament, Blacks will see itr as predominately a white Parliament and workers will see it as a bunch of slackers.. But it still has authority to make Laws over them.. You are being ridiculous. There is no nation of atheism or atheist parliament. There is no nation of blacks or black parliament. There is a nation of Scotland with a Scottish parliament being overruled by a predominantly English parliament. And whether or not you can see that is irrelevent. It is how the Scots will see it and thats the point. It's not ridiculous at all - any minority group can act the same as you and claim that their views are being trampled by the majority. At some point you are going to have to accept the minorities don't always win the argument. |

There will be those Scots who disapprove of the law yet who think it is for their own parliament to decide and not for Westminster to overrule. Morayloon on this very forum is an example of one It would be interesting if someone were to poll how many Scots support Westminster overruling Holyrood on this one and how many oppose that. I have heard it said that two thirds of Scots oppose the law itself but that is not quite the same thing. |

Population of the UK: England 84.3% Scotland 8.2% Wales 4.7% NI 2.8% The majority of MP's represent England because the population of the UK is predominantly English. That argument falls flat on its face when you consider that scotland ireland and wales , when the uk was at its greatest extent in 1801 , made up 50 % of the population across 60 % of the land mass , but only got 26 % of the westminster representation.
Englands dominance across that parliament has changed little over the centuries irrespective of the population share and voting entitlement.
And yours falls flat on its face because half of the Scottish and Welsh land masses are vertical rock faces you can’t live on hence the population demographics. |

That doesnt hide the fact pre union scotland demographics were much higher as a percentage of englands , and my point is when ireland was part of this union , their popualtion alone was close to england for centuries.( but not their political representation how ever disenfranchised)
So no my point doesnt fall flat on its face , when you deliberately miss out the biggest demographic in the celtic nations.....ireland.

Ok. But Ireland doesn’t count any more as it fucked off by violence. It does count to the point i made regarding the popualtion share and political representation in 1801. Irelands electroate was similar to englands alone , never mind adding scotland and wales , yet the three celtic countires got 26 % of the represenatation.
The point is , the goal posts get moved to maintain englands heremony in that feudal parliament of a bygone age. The popualtion imbalance favouring englands political dominance today we see is merely the latest in a long line of convenient excuses....which of course would rapdily change were the popualtion in these islands to go back to the old status quo of the majority being in the celtic countries. England would still maintain its grip .
