Doesn't matter who you vote for at the moment, there's a choice of sandwiches each of them containing shit. No point getting tribalistic about it. They all need a kick up the arse. It's down to who has the best joke writer for me. Starmer just made a bid for the lead with his the lady's not for turning up jibe. Other than that it's hard to tell any of them apart. |

Seems to me that we're seeing just how short of skills the current crop of politicians are - on both sides.
It's relatively easy to steer a country in the good times. The real test of governance comes when there's a global shitstorm.
Bit like driving a car really. Any fool can drive one when it's running fine and claim they're a great driver, the real test is what they are able to do when it breaks-down. There isn't a decent mechanic amongst them.

They thought winning at petty and divisive politics and silly jibes was the way forward, lowering themself each consecutive time they did it.

No one from the Tory Party can "sort Starmer out" now, its too late, and unless Keir Starmer and the Labour Party make a colossal mess-up or blunder, then its now inevitable that Labour will form the next government.
The Tories cannot possibly claw their way back from where they are now - 36 points behind - this is actually better than the position that Tony Blair was in in the run-up to the 1997 election, when Labour won a record majority.
NOTHING is going to go in the Tories favour, we are now facing a reduction in help for the energy crisis, no tax reductions, an almost certain recession, more cuts to public services.
The Tories are doomed - and they bloody well deserve to be

The pensions are on a gamble that says the US treasury bonds will always deliver a positive return, which they do not look like they will do so they could get a margin call. That's the gamble. It's a bleak situation but the causes are many, including our economic association with the US. Many believe the dollar will crash out at some point and we tend to move according to the dollar. We are more coupled to it than most countries. |
