Which is why the UK enjoys the most expensive electricity in the world. That's the result of 50 years of under investment in nuclear... Nuclear energy is cheap?

That's the result of 50 years of under investment in nuclear... Nuclear energy is cheap? It would appear so — or cheaper than is currently available in the UK — France derives around 70% of its electricity from nuclear power, and the US has the world's largest nuclear energy capacity, totaling 102 GW across 94 reactors.
Both countries are cited on here as having cheaper energy than the UK.

Let’s build some more then . 👍

People did want fracking. The usual nut jobs tried everything in the book in their attempt at stopping it. Does eartheqakes ring any bells? Any examples of communities wanting fracking? All I remember were the reports of demonstrations and protests in different parts of the country when fracking was suggested, and the High Court backing them:
Key elements of the government’s policy on fracking have been declared unlawful by the High Court.
I wouldn't be at all surprised if "eartheqakes" rang bells...
Just the normal JSO nutjobs and the great unwashed led by the usual dim brigade...

That's the result of 50 years of under investment in nuclear... Nuclear energy is cheap? Not when the stations have to be decommisioned. They run into billions over budget and years longer than predicted..

Half of the french nuke stations are closed for repairs..Not exactly a shining example to use french nuke stations as a showpeice..
The discovery of widespread carbon segregation problems in critical nuclear plant components has crippled the French power industry—20 of the country's 58 reactors are currently offline and under heavy scrutiny.

The UK's natural gas reserves which took millions of years to form will have been sucked dry in just another 14 years, a mere 70 years after they were first exploited. What then? Nuclear

Or the lack of investment into coal fired power stations. That was intentional... We know but the planning for energy security was atrocious and as I have said we close our coal fired power stations, the paltry half dozen or so that was left and China replaces that in a fortnight. Normal people do not decommission their old boiler until the replacement is ready

Unfortunately their Co2 refuses to stay in their country and effects our weather. Bloody foreign Co2 coming here ruining our air. And the evidence that CO2 is ruining our air is where exactly? Oh do give up. IPCC, NOAA, NASA, CAS.

I thought it was climate change, when you mention weather to a climate change fanatic they usually talk down to you as though you are a half wit and say “weather and climate change are two different things”. Climate change is caused by Co2, Co2 affects our weather. Glad to help.

That's the result of 50 years of under investment in nuclear... Or renewables. 50 years of kicking the can down the road. If renewables are heat pumps , solar and wind farms then that was wise . Im always hearing that if they are shit today that’s ok because they will be great tomorrow..
