I was absolutely furious when I read about this, and I being quite serious. £3.5 million for veterans, £15.5 billion for illegals.

In any case, those fleeing conflicts as genuine refugees should be admitted to the country, they are fleeing persecution and should be admitted. Maybe others too.
There has been a Home Office backlog since 1991 as I recall, where many have had trouble with the system.
Immigrants from the Blair years are only just now in some cases being processed.
At the same time, veterans should be cared for and looking after which is what he's trying to do
