Sounds like he was a man who had many severe health issues and died possibly owing to them, but the sentence seems unnecessarily harsh when many are doing far worse things and he (Lynch) was a patriot, who sadly died. There should be reform of the CJS. The Baron is a good poster who provides many good insights into issues and is a patriot.
In any case, Farage is also a good patriot who seems not to be snobby, he is a man of the people and goes to the pub just like anybody else for eg. I will not condemn him.

I've found out he did have health issues. this is from Sky I've never in my life seen anyone sentenced to 2y8m for shouting scum at the police. They also mention
Now do understand the argument here is he was convicted of some sort of assault against police officer, and the idea is if you attack them, one can call it an attack if the person was injured. If a police officer is injured a police officer can be compensated for that injury, and may need time off work to recover. The logical conclusion is the police lied and claimed they were injured by being called scum, so they had to be compensated and take time off work to recover from their psychological injuries through being called scum and generally not liked very much by their funders, the public.
Well he was dead right. I've seen other videos of him and he does like to shout a lot when at a protest. He was very similar to those Red Robbo factory walkouts back in the 70s. The police were regularly called scum on picket lines, but no one was arrested for it because the police were tough men who could cope with the demands of the job. The line was generally drawn that words were fine, but real physical injury to an officer was an offence.

I'd happily sit down and drink a few pints over a chat with Nigel.

I can't but help notice a change in political mood amongst those who talk about Reform. All of a sudden the mood has kind of flipped. For as long as I have known, Farage and his YT channel has attracted millions of diehard fans. In the last few days all the top comments are anti-Farage. It seems to be that Farage has not addressed the issue of Peter Lynch. He has not said a thing about him, and Reform fans start to wonder why. Of course if it were just one channel you might think some spam campaign is being organised, but I do not think so. Not only do you see this on Farage's soap box, but on many other YT channels who were pretty much like the Telegraph is to the Conservative Party. The Cons can always rely on the Telegraph at elections, and in the age of social media you have dozens of channels with fairly large followings, typically 100k subscriber level and none of them agree with Farage and his silence, and all seem to be thinking the same. I've not seen Farage's reputation so damaged amongst fans and media supporters as this. The only reason I can offer that has caused it is what Farage has not said. It's like the silence on Peter Lynch is defending. Now he sits in the bracket of "controlled opposition" or the dreaded "WEF" along with Prince Charles and many more.
Fame is so fleeting, isn't it! LOL hilarious. Reform UK are the fastest growing party in British political history, why? Because when it comes to the biggest issue that people are concerned about the Tories have ignored the electorate, and Labour will ignore the electorate, which is manna from heaven for Farage. Sooner or later Labour and the Tories will realise that Farage doesn't have to do anything other than sit back and collect support as immigration continues to rise. And people will vote Reform UK because as far as mass immigration is concerned, they're sick of being lied to.

The 77th 'Brigade' has something of a history but in recent times has been resurrected to 'counter disinformation and other online activity deemed harmful to the UK'. Post covid an Army whistleblower claimed it was quite obvious that the activities of the UK population were being monitored. My only surprise is that some people appear to be surprised. Our movements and habits are monitored and recorded like never before, people in blissful ignorance have willingly walked into a surveillance society, and they are yet to realise it.

It used to be called BNP, then British First, EDL, Tommy Robinson and so on. These type would have been diehard Labour supporters in the 70s, as per industrial workers and men with big muscles. They get piss poor pay and Farage seems to think he is much better than they are, which causes a whole load of friction, since after all it is they who get the bad end of immigration. This could explain this recent fracas. They think Farage is a lightweight.

In your critique of far right groups you neglect to mention the NF who were probably the first post war right wing group in the UK, apart from the SNP, but no one talks abut that because they're not English and as we all know, only white English people can be racists. However, notwithstanding your lack of accuracy, lets continue. Lefties will sneer at Farage, they always have. But these days they don't sneer with any confidence and behind closed doors they will be very concerned about the rise of Reform UK, if they have any sense.

The govt mean well and want to protect us from threats, but the over surveilling must stop I tend to disagree borgo, welcome to the forum btw. The government regardless of Tory or Labour will continue to enhance surveillance for two reasons: 1) People make it easy to be tracked and monitored. 2) With the increasing threat of Islamic terrorism and mass immigration, surveillance is already the norm but people cant see it. Surveillance becomes more sophisticated and less intrusive by the day.

TTL, when the terrorist known as Bobby Sands died of his own volition, I was in Canada. The party was organised and we were waiting for days, then the news came through that the bogtrotting terrorist had died. The celebrations were almost imediate, we had a street party like no other, and it wasn't just us, the Canucks joined in too.

One who loves and cares about their country Patriot what a sickening word Why is patriot a sickening word? To people in NI he was considered a hero and a patriot, to you he was considered 'scum' and a terrorist, to them they consider the British Army terrorists as opposed to patriots and heroes I won't condemn any of them The SF group in Stormont appear to be the majority now, they were considered terrorists in the old days, now according to polls the majority not only favour them but at times favour reunification with the Republic Farage represents what many people in England want and has never been convicted of anything relating to terrorism anyway, not that I condemn others who have been so convicted
