Shame there isn't a NATO board, then you could have posted it there. There is a World board, though. I look forward to the day when the forum acquires its own International Scouting Organisation board, then Vinny will have somewhere else to post on happenings in countries in which that organisation is involved, even if they have nothing at all to do with scouting.

Just been reading it, yes it appears a very viable threat I hope Germany has caught all of the bastards, if they were plotting a coup. I also hope they get a fair trial.

The Germans are known for their efficiency it appears that they have been monitoring these people for quite some time to gather as much evidence as possible before going in.

They're all far-right conspiracy theorists and far-far-right terrorists controlled by Russia. I should read less MSM.

Had that coup been successful though, it would have been absolute chaos for the EU, Germany is their biggest member state.
From what I remember of the treaties, the EU have no means of suspending a member or overturning a coup.

The established political parties have been actively destroying their countries' cultures and demographics and voting for change does not bring about change

Or just people concerned at the direction their country is taking perhaps?
I was listening to a German journalist on the radio this afternoon and it would appear that some of these people have occupied quite responsible positions previously and aren't just the usual bunch of cranks, although I have no doubt that they will be presnted that way.
Makes one wonder if their aims are more widely supported.
Interesting times.

We're not going to get a balanced story, and I am sure it will soon be buried and forgotten in the media over the coming days. Maybe German local news will be more telling.

If it was all viable to overthrow the German government, I can't see how arresting 35 people is going to make much odds.

Do you think it's good for a moderator to smear another member of illegal activities when it's obvious that this isn't what happened?

Do you think it's good for a moderator to smear another member of illegal activities when it's obvious that this isn't what happened? I don't think it's a good look for a moderator to smear another member. But supporting a hard right coup against a democratically elected government is supporting terrorism, as stated. No doubt Sandy didn't think his post through, and probably wouldn't have worded it that way if he had, but that's the impression he created. It was a fair comment.
