I recall the BNP trying to pull a similar stunt around twenty years ago in an attempt to fend off accusations of anti-Semitism. Although many in the party advised them not to, they went ahead anyway and selected a Jewish candidate for councillor, in Epping Forest as I recall. That was about the same time as they appointed a Sikh as their spokesman for ethnic affairs and an ethnic Turk as a Candidate for the London assembly. None of this nonsense had any effect other than prompting a mass exodus of members, while those they were trying to persuade that the leopard had changed its spots were not convinced. I suspect that Reform's efforts to 'reach out' will have a similar outcome. As far as I'm aware Reform UK do not advocate sending all black and Asian people back to the countries they or their ancestors came from. The BNP and Reform UK are completely different, there is no similarity. Reform UK maybe a fledgling party, but with 5000 at the first day of their conference they are clearly a serious and professional party and with Farage as leader Reform UK will go from strength to strength Labour will see to that. Indeed Farage doesn't really have to do anything, the best recruiting sergeant for Reform UK is sitting in 10 Downing Street.

What do resident Reformers make of Nige's decision to make Zia Yusuf the new party chairman. Yusuf will be taking centre stage at Reform's annual conference in Birmingham next week delivering a keynote speech highlighting the contributions that migrants have made and are making to British society.
Yusuf is the 37 year-old son of immigrants from Sri Lanka who arrived for work in the NHS in the 1980s. After a career in banking with Merrill Lynch and Goldman Sachs he went on to form a luxury concierge firm that provided “money can’t buy” experiences to its wealthy clients. The sale of this business enabled him to become the largest donor to Reform's campaign fund for the last election.
He is quoted in the Times as stating that his key objective as Chairman is to make voting for Reform 'socially acceptable'. The Times, on the other hand, poses the question whether his rapid rise up the greasy political pole is in itself another opportunistic move by Farage, the great opportunist.
What say you? A sound strategy on Nige's behalf or yet another sell-out? I've listened to Zia Yusuf a few times on GB News, he sounds OK to me. Smart move by Farage? Yes I think so. The left accuse Farage, Tice, Anderson etc of being racists and far right but to use the same slurs on a dark skinned Muslim, well that would be a bit awkward because as we all know, as far as the left are concerned only white English people can be racists/far right. It just shows they are feeble-minded if they are scared of being called a racist. They are acting like the Tories. I mean fuckwit appeasers of the politically correct. Ask who the hell cares about their concerns. They have fucked us over time and time again. Look at how Channel 4 set them up. Who would take orders from bastards like that who call them racist?

I wouldn't disagree there, however it isn't the BNP that Reform needs to differentiate itself from, but rather the old-gang mainstream parties.
Thus far, they seem to be following an identical playbook, with the installation of an ethnic minority figurehead being simply the latest chapter in their #metoo campaign.

The BNP stunt was with one Sikh member, Reform are already a party with a diverse membership. Those that want cultural and ethnic independence of some sort will probably be a subset of the whole membership but in general terms the membership want control of borders and an end to mass immigration.

Sounds to me similar to what Dr Johnson said about second marriages when he described them as 'the triumph of hope over experience'.

Isn't that only going to be true if the party is based on racism and xenophobia, but as Farage insisted they are not and he'll turf those people out, it actually seems like a good move. It'll be interesting to see how others on this forum react, seeing as there is a lot of antimuslim feeling on here.

Farage like millions of others happen to be patriotic, and respect the cultures and religions of the English/UK, and for that people get accused of being racist and xenophobic, what is wrong with valuing your own heritage and cultures, every other country in the world does just that without being labeled racist or xenophobic, the UK is a soft touch and we are being used and abused by outside influences.

Reform can only succeed if they are able to offer the native electorate a radically different approach to resolving the demographic and cultural challenges posed by immigration and multiculturalism. There is no space on the political spectrum for another clone of the existing parties and the 'solutions' they propose.
They will not be able to do that if, as you suggest, the party ejects en masse members who display any signs of what you call racism and xenophobia especially if they cast the net as wide as the other mainstream parties customarily do. While at the same time elevating ethnics into senior positions in the party hierarchy.
It won't take long for the rank and file to start asking 'Hey, what's all this then? We thought we were going to be getting something different, not the same old rubbish the old-gang have put out for decades already'.

That presupposes that ethnics all think alike and that many voters think alike. The time when reversal to a previous ethnic make up has come and gone and realistically the British lost that round and the left succeeded. Unless we take the current bull by the horns the British will lose the next round as well which means accepting our demographic changes both actual and projected and stopping where we are. The scope for repatriation on any scale is pretty limited and will be fought tooth and nail by the triumvirate

And in line with the UN programmes there are people who are unsettled here and a programme of repatriation would be welcome. Oops this should be a reply to Andrew.
