If you was P.M or a minister or Government
Would you stop winter Allowance for 10 million pensioners
Or
Tax the Richest 1% in the Country a 1% increase
To cover the 22bn black hole left by the Tory government

Taxing poor pensioners is an abomination. Many pensioners are very well off, thankyou, get off scot free. Taxing the richest is an abomination, rich people keep this country afloat, and pay fortunes in tax, absolutely not. The deficit can be wiped out tomorrow by stop paying foreigners. China, India, uncle tom cobbly.
Its simple really, put Britain first, not the globalist s hite. We give money away like idiots, billions to Rwanda, France, pay for wind farms in Angola, or wherever.
Parliament and its culture needs to be ended, like now.
Its lost touch with reality, the people, everything. Lucy Frazer was on tv yesterday the east cambs MP, all of this was put to her, she basically said eff off, but nice like. The Tories are gone, kaput.

Them with the Broadist shoulders carry a bigger responsibility We do - they pay 30% of total Income Tax receipts.

The scrapping of the winter fuel allowance was just a rounding error in terms of government revenue - less than £1.5 billion. I think Reeves just didn't like the idea of handing out an untaxed/unmeans-tested £300 to all pensioners. There are better ways of doing it. I think the winter fuel allowance was one of Gordon Brown's attempts to annoy the Tories. He knew it would be VERY difficult to get rid of. Unfortunately for Reeves she's walked straight into the elephant trap. Served 'em right.
As for "difficult decisions" the difficult decision would have been not to give the public sector inflation-busting pay rises. Screwing the pensioners costs them nothing because they don't usually vote labour.
If Labour want to balance the budget the easiest way of doing it is to limit pension contribution tax relief to basic rate of income tax. It's very easy and will bring in a reasonable amount of money - and it'll all be from higher rete tax payers.
Unfortunately Reeves seems to be going down the rabbit hole of equalising Capital Gains tax with income tax. This hits the rich very hard as they tend to pay CGT rather than income tax. Putting 1% on income tax won't have any effect. But - and it's a big but - raising CGT is death to growth. Now that's a difficult decision.

We do - they pay 30% of total Income Tax receipts. So another 1% won't make any difference Thats optimistic - they are already fleeing the country in record numbers. You want more spending - put your hand in your own pocket.

I would suggest making Ed Miliband happy is not a good reason and destroying the country with demographic overload is not a good reason either. The government are representatives of the people not of the world, nor of those wishing to come here. There was a time they were duty bound to do what was best for the British people in the round and overloading them with migration is not good for them irrespective of how many enjoy kebab shops and Thai restaurants as there is always a price to pay.

On this I sort of agree with lefty , tax the richest . The wealth distribution has become lopsided with the top 10% owning over half the countries wealth . World wide the top 0.01% own 10% of the global wealth which is an indication of where the money is .
So, a windfall tax on energy companies as a sticking plaster and a 2% tax increase on the richest 350 families in the UK would raise more than £20 billion a year .
The question though is would the labour party use it wisely ? I personally doubt it .

They'd be better off cutting public spending than raising taxes - which tends to lead to more avoidance. One area of public spending that could be "pruned" is the size of the civil service. After all only a minority ever turn up for work. linkPage down to the graph. Not only do the numbers of civil servants seem be rising but also they're being paid more. Even if the band salaries don't rise they get round that by promoting each other.

Im all for tax increases It is all over the Media it happens on a run up to a UK GE if the rich think there is a possibility of Labour winning the money flows out of the UK at a fast rate of knots ,because they know if Labour win they will increase their Income Tax. Foreign Nationals Non Dom's move their money as well and may physically leave as well sell up, Labour still cannot get it into their heads that taxing people too much is the wrong thing to do, they move their money out of the UK to a Country that has lower tax rates

It was a tough choice that had to be made, Doris, and I'm afraid only one Labour MP voted against you losing your Winter Fuel payments. But if you weren't such a White racist, you'd do the sensible thing and marry an illegal immigrant and move into his nice warm hotel room with him. The new Government is punishing you for your Bigotry. We will not let your outdated views stand in the way of the Caring Socialist Society we're building.

We could save a fortune by not paying for foreign countries to meet bogus climate change targets.
There, that's most of the "Black Hole" filled already.
