None of us is indispensable... Exactly . You are ( as yet) not a victim of an employer taking on more compliant, ignorant and/ or young employees that will do anything to take what have but you do seem to support them. Don't understand.
I earn fees for my employers, who can replace me, and the team I work with, anytime they choose.
Privately, we were originally clients of an architect several years ago, who recommended a couple of builders. After all insurances and licences were checked and verified, we engaged one, and their team turned out to be predominately European. As they worked well, we have used them since, and will continue to do so. All quoted and invoiced work. No cash in hand.
Not sure what your beef is...

Living in London, I have met and spoken with Hungarians, Rumanians, Poles, Czechs, Albanians as well as Western Europeans.
There are nice people in all of these groups.
Now on the downside.
Locally early Sunday mornings, short stocky dark haired men going car to car to check the car doors. Local housing residents are scared as foreign European men are sleeping on the floors and their post is going missing, they are frightened to report it in case of retribution.
Spanish and Mixed Mediterranean cafes no longer employ western European staff in their cafes yet Eastern Europeans. They both later closed as people stopped going as the ambience had gone. Opticians receptionist is now Eastern European. Doctors, NHS dietitian is now Eastern European.
Local car wash employs Eeastern European staff.
Fight in local shopping centre between Blacks and tracksuited foreign men wearing track suits.
Southern European man smashes up the train I am on I look round and he glares at me, so I stand up and he steps back. Then he starts smashing things up so I look at him and open my bag as though to pull out something and he sits down again. Next stop he gets off.
Now we periodically have travellers causing low level problems and school kids being mugged or stabbed for their phones by young black criminals cominf from other areas. The police only put on more numbers when people start making a fuss or threaten to go vigilante. It normally takes two school kids to get life changing injuries from stabbings before people start to complain.
A lot of thefts of cars, bikes from peoples drives and some brazenly.
This is why as soon as I can I will move out.
Now in the country, farmers were having livestock and machinery stolen. Then farmers got transponders and the police traced them to Romania and no further action taken.
Not all of this is European related yet we should be able to stop most of the European criminal types coming here because of Brexit. If we don't then perhaps people will start to vote differently and I don't mean Labour.

You know someone's dodgy when they have two tracksuits on.

I've just skimmed through it, but this seems to suggest that the Home Secretary had power to deport convicted criminals from the EU to serve their sentences in their home country. unlock.org.uk/advice/deportation-due-to-a-criminal-record/#:~:text=An%20individual%20cannot%20be%20deported,over%20five%20or%20ten%20years.

That went over your head then..🙄 Whatever you say. But it looks like you don't have anecdotes about British workers working or willing to work 7 days a week, 12 hours a day for weeks at a time. Yes , it did go over your head . Thanks for confirming it.

I haven’t got a ‘ beef’. You are lucky in that you are not exposed to a younger more hard working person with nothing to lose taking your job. Its certainly not because no one could . So it’s ok if it happens to others , right?

So, there are good and bad kinds of protectionism? It's bad for the EU to protect jobs in the EU by imposing tariffs, but it's good for the UK to protect jobs in the UK by imposing limits on immigration? I take it that you can’t support unlimited immigration and decide to move the goal posts . Anyone who supports unlimited migration and at the same time says that they support a higher wage for workers are hypocrites.

I thought I highlighted the fundamental contradiction at the heart of your position. EU employs protectionism to protect jobs = bad Brexit Britain employs protectionism to protect jobs = good.

Oh right, so you're not one of those Brexiters who wants to protect the wages of British plumbers but is quite happy to throw the farmers to the wolves? Do you at least accept that your position is protectionist?

I'm sure you're your own man, Benny. Maybe you think there should be no protection against cheap labour and no protection against cheap imports. Or are you only opposed to protection against cheap imports?

Do you accept that your position it’s basically ‘ fuck the lower wage workers and let in as many immigrants as want to come to the UK…oh and by the way those Tories are horrid because they refuse to make sure everyone earns a lot more wages’.
