Morayloon has gone quiet, his dream is dead. RIP Scottish separatism.
Long live the UK.

Much credit is due to BBC Scotland for producing its own election night show that focussed heavily upon the Scottish element of yesterday’s election, allowing us to watch the SNP’s electoral car crash unfold throughout the night in glorious technicolour and to enjoy the long overdue public humiliation of the inept and vainglorious Nationalists with the minimum of interruption.
As if the humbling of the SNP wasn’t enough to send us to bed happy, the complete irrelevance of Alba to the Scottish political scene was laid bare through the risible level of support it received everywhere it stood. The Scottish people clearly have no time for Mr Salmond’s vanity project or for the extremists and bigots who take refuge therein. Praise be !

Morayloon has gone quiet, his dream is dead. RIP Scottish separatism. Long live the UK. While the polls continue to show support for Independence at around the 50% mark, the 'dream' is not dead. The SNP will regroup and come back stronger than ever. Remember, it was only a few years ago that the SNP held 56 of 59 seats, with the Unionist Parties gaining one each. So, the SNP results were hard to take, but not as bad as the Unionist results in 2015. In 2017, the Tories made a bit of a comeback, but were pushed back in 2019. Now it is Labour's turn to see a revival in the electoral front. However one of the commentators on BBC Scotland pointed out that, after the one seat majority in 2007, the SNP were gubbed in the 2010 GE, only to come roaring back in the 2011 Scottish GE. So, all is not doom & gloom in the YES camp. So, roll on 2026 There were some highlights, though. The constituency I vote in, Moray West, Nairn & Strathspey was won, as was the neighbouring constituency of North Aberdeenshire & Moray East. The latter saw the welcome defeat of the linesman, one DRoss.

The SNP said that a large win for them would make the case for a second referendum. They got decimated.
The SNP are in disarray. Alba are unelectable. Unionist parties 1,534,995 SNAT parties 811,190.
That's the only poll that matters dear. It's over Morayloon, your dream is dead.

Only when polls start showing that support is diminishing will I accept that the cause might be under pressure. As I said it is only the Independence supporting parties which have been hit, the concept of Independence is still alive. You said it was over in 2017. There was a substantial comeback in 2019. I am certain another comeback is on the cards.

That's not what last nights vote demonstrates Morayloon. You can produce all the pie in the sky pretend polls you like, but last night was a cast iron vote against your silly bollocks flagship policy and your beloved racist party got clobbered. And if it hadn't been for Reform, Douglas Ross would still be our MP.

50% of Scots still support Independence. Maybe so, but what seems pretty clear (to me at least) is that the intensity levels of support for independence amongst that 50% has diminished notably over the past couple of years. That is potentially more damaging to the Indy cause than a drop in the absolute numbers supporting independence would be.

I am certain another comeback is on the cards. Today I spoke to a friend who lives in Renfrewshire who told me that the Scots voted for Labour because they were disenchanted with the SNP and there were no other viable options, but that this most definitely is not an indication that they no longer want independence. Far from it.

The losers always want another chance to try again. Doesn't mean Scotland wants to leave the UK.

Haven't seen many SNATS posting on here recently, what with Scotland's early trip home from the Euro's and now SNP getting wiped, I think it'll be a while before Jaydee rears his head. He usually pops back up when he thinks the coast is clear.
