That's the question posed in The Times today.
Assuming they are able to win their own seats, the front-runners per the Times are:
Penny Mordaunt Grant Shapps Kemi Badenoch Robert Jenrick Priti Patel Tom Tugendhat James Cleverly Suella Brawerman
Six members of an ethnic minority, with one of the two 'Natives' married to a US-born Israeli citizen and bringing his children up in the Jewish faith?
Is it any wonder that the Conservative Party, at least the parliamentary party, is in its death throes?

Very good question. Unfortunately the Times is more than just a newspaper. It is the official voice of British Intelligence, which very ironically makes it appear one of the least intelligent and most wrong of all British publications. Indeed I trust The Sun more than I do The Times.
Anyhow here is my view:
Penny Mordaunt- military/intelligence asset Grant Shapps - Internet scammer conman Kemi Badenoch-Foreign Robert Jenrick -? Priti Patel - foreign Tom Tugendhat - foreign + military/intelligence asset James Cleverly - foreign and very stupid. Suella Brawerman - foreign
And so we have it that all the top ones who in a functional organisation would be the shortlist of candidates are all ones who are already seen to have failed badly. If the Conservative Party were a private company I owned, I would personally throw all of those out. I would deselect them and anyone else who has failed and start recruiting a new team. I suppose I would be looking to do a kind of John Major trick, as in get someone who may not be well known, but was quietly doing a good job of whatever job in government he had. This broadens your choice to all the MPs you have. There must be one who is highly intelligent and has never screwed up. Assuming there is, then you stick him in a super safe seat and elect him as your leader. He would have to be British, well educated, someone who never got to where he did through privilege and old school connections, and preferably someone who understands business. The point being it does not matter if the person is of most junior rank and totally unknown. if he is good and made leader he would be known pretty fast anyway, but known for all the right reasons. Yes i know John Major was no kind of superman, but he was a case of going the route of getting in an unknown who had worked his way to where he got to and was also skilled in banking, which is better than having a degree in flower arranging.

Why is Farage not on the list? If I were a Tory I would not want Farage in my party. Farage plays the very same game as Johnson. They are both bullshitters but the public really like bullshit. You have this intractable problem where to get elected you need a bullshitter, but as soon as you get into power the bullshitter destroys your reputation. You can not run a firm by bullshit. The answer to this problem proposed by Dominic Cummings was to get the bullshitter get you into power, then throw the bullshitter out if he persists in trying to run the country. The Pentagon do a similar trick with Biden. They promote and fund a fool who is so stupid that he relates to the average Joe and needs to be told everything to do. The trouble is on several occasions the man took his own decisions, much like Johnson was doing during covid. Some people know that Farage's big weakness is in handling power when he has it. To put it bluntly, he could not run a tap. He is very good though at destroying stuff, but having destroyed everything, what does it leave you with?

And the bookies favourite is..... Cameron! I cant believe he is even a consideration. Or Cleverly for that matter. I wouldn't mind Badenoch, Patel, Braverman or Farage. I'd like to see them in a future cabinet.

Why is Farage not on the list? Is he a contender for leadership of the Conservative Party?

I think 2 or 3 of those are in danger of losing their seat.

Why is Farage not on the list? Is he a contender for leadership of the Conservative Party? I'd suggest he is a pretty serious contender - especially with the membership of the Party.

Baron, Farage a bullshitter, are you ok? Of course he is.
Here's another bit of bullshit for you.
So the fuckwits are going for someone who looks suspiciously like a US agent. How convenient of her mother to drop her load whilst in Wimbledon eh?
Of course there is no pattern to be seen here. Johnson and Sunak's relations with the US are purely coincidental eh? And as for Farage. Was he not going to work there too?

Baron, Farage a bullshitter, are you ok? You mean like he said he's pulling us out of the WEF? We're not even a member. He's not just a bullshitter, but a moron.
