Perhaps an opportune moment to switch track and pose 'The Question'. Standby.

That is probably about right however no matter how much the MSN purports to be anti-racist and morally superior they cannot resist pointing out that the penalty takers were black and the winning goalscorer was black. If it is of no consequence then why mention it, they mention it therefore they must have an agenda in saying it and it is no different to someone saying the penalty missers in 2020 were all black. Mr King would not rest easy. I don’t deny the MSN play at group politics. The best way to end racism is to stop talking about it every 5 minutes. But we all know that talentless journalists and sensationalists have made careers from it. However back on point, to think the England football team is doing anything other than trying its best to win, is just baloney. I would disagree, the prime motive is to win but they also have other considerations that they take on board and although it should not be it is part of the decision making process. The likes of Southgate knows full well he is being judged on those issues as well as the direct football issue.

No. The best way to stop racism is to halt immigration from outside the Eurosphere, and to find some way to repatriate racial aliens already here. Sounds like the world has got smaller, but you're finding it difficult to cope with this. A smaller world does not mean that everyone else has to come here. Perhaps you could explain why that should be. We were in India for 300 years and got told to piss off, why would it be wrong to reciprocate? For clarity I am not saying we should but why would it be wrong?

Discretion being the greater part of valour I'm not expecting to see any further contributions from andrewbrown on this particular theme.

Anyway, back to the Euros.
Hopefully not speaking too soon, but since the knock-out stages began there has been a refreshing absence of pundettes and screachy commentators on both channels. For the England game ITV re-purposed theirs into touchline microphone dollies interviewing each other.
It was interesting to see though when they were featured on the punditry panel, how tiny they are when compared to the strapping footballers next to them. That didn't stop the producers putting up how many international caps they had won though, some astonishing numbers 150 plus, one had over 170. But strangely though, they tended to have not that many more actual actual league appearances. Example: Joleon Lescott - 26 caps and 504 league appearances. On the same panel, Karen Carney - 149 caps but just 178 league appearances in her entire career.
What a charade.

Ive spent years watching international football tournaments on tv , whether the mighty scotland is there or not , with English commentators muted. Who is Karen carney?

The ITV punditry panel for one of the group games:
L-R: Joleon Lescott (26 caps), Eniola Aluko (107 caps), Gary Neville (85 caps)
The boys are smiling and grimacing at a radical tactical change proposed by Eni, when given her vastly superior international experience they should be awestruck with admiration.
Simple racism and misogony innit.

He's from Bury so we have to make allowances.
In mitigation he's always slagging off the Glazers so that's all good.

Back to the point, Neville is around 5' 10", Lescott is 6' 3" so how tall is the Munchkin in the middle, the Lioness who won 107 caps? Assuming she's not in her Leboutins or standing on a box.
They tell us it's the same game they play so they deserve our 'spec when they pundit.

I think even guardiola privately quipped its the dreariest fuckin place he's ever visited never mind lived in his life , and when you see serial whiners like neville and his flat footed brother , you can see why. The first time I ever went abroad from scotland , I visited Lancashire , all the way from my Glaswegian tenement , and by fuck , did I feel like an upper class millionaire with my fried mars bar and bottle of buck fast. When I saw the weather , deprivation and severe poverty , 19 year old grandfathers with their shell suits and cans of vimto , I was reduced to tears. I had never seen an outside toilet before in my life before visiting Manchester. Has it improved somewhat?

Haha, I listened to the same thing .... short football related introduction, and soon we were treated to the nutty professor, then being told about the latest Euro 2024 exhibition being put on by the 'Migration Museum' (must admit I didn't know there was such a place) celebrating football diversity, and then who did they have on the line to give his expert opinion ..... none other than John Barnes !'
It's NEVER just a game for the Left, it's always an opportunity to propagandize. And remember The Tories never lift a finger to rein them in ..... other than every five or ten years claiming they 'might' have a re-think on the TV licence fee ..... yeah, just as they are always going to think about whether we need to leave the ECHR in order to side step the Lefty lawyers. The amazing thing about the last Election was how The Tories could still amass as many votes as they did.
