Didn't he play for New York Cosmos? But anyway, a diversity-enthusiast such as your goodself will have been unimpressed by the series of pale and stale 100%-Euro affairs like yesterday's Slovenia vs Serbia yawnfest and England's feeble half-hearted effort at showing how diversity is our greatest strength falling really flat but fear ye not! The tournament is sure to be re-invigorated later today by the fixture between the Côte d'Ivoire et Senegal Sélection and the Surinam All-Stars. The two squads are overwhelmingly diverse with 32 players of colour between so we could see as many as 16 or 17 on the pitch at once. Enjoy! I was thinking how diverse the winning England team was in 1966. Humza Yusuf would have complained. Yeah, he shamelessly hated whites, which is not only acceptable but also encouraged in the UK today. Anti-racism combined with overt hypocrisy equals racism.

Picking up on the theme, I'm taking note of the ethnically European members of the starting XIs for the eight quarter-finalists; the last five teams which were 100% European having exited after the round of 16.
Staring with the first QF, we have:
Germany: 5 ethnic Germans in the starting line-up, along with two negroes, two mulattos and two Asiatics (turks).
Spain: 9 ethnic Europeans, plus a negro and an Afro-Arab.
This survey was prompted by a newsreel shown by one of the channels about the French victory in 1984, when the team that won it - led by the incomparable Michel Platini - Had just one player who was not ethnic French.

*Commercial Break* Baron-von-Becks looks in to say: ''Dan's Euro 2024 Notebook is sponsored by AliExpress''
Becks, while refusing to enter into conversation concerning his Jewish grandfather, did state that he recalls Michel Platini as being a bit of a Nancy boy, who played for the French club between 1972-79. 'Dan's ethnicity stats provide an interesting new twist to the tournament, and I'm certain that with the help of the exciting brand of attacking football Gareth insists on, the Three Lions will bring diversity and inclusivity aplenty to the Final next Sunday. And after that let's have a China World Cup with lots of little Uyghurs running around as ball boys' suggests Sir Becks.

While pondering on the significance of the demographic transformation of European elite football over the last 40 years Douglas Murray's magnum opus The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam came to mind. Although dismissed in the Guardian as as "gentrified xenophobia" with "Chapter after chapter circling around the same repetitive themes: migrants raping and murdering and terrorising; paeans to Christianity; long polemics about how Europe is too 'exhausted by history' and colonial guilt to face another battle, and is thus letting itself be rolled over by invaders fiercely confident in their own beliefs", we are seeing Murray's thesis confirmed and reinforced before our own eyes in the form of Euros 2024.
With that, on to QF2:
France: Two Europeans plus nine non-Euros
Portugal: Nine Europeans and two negroes
I have given Pepe the benefit of the doubt. More later.

Perhaps if the worst comes to the worst and our brave diverse lads fall to defeat against Toblerone Town later on today, then maybe as some consolation for not bringing home the Cup, Douglas could lend us his award for being 'Islamophobe par excellence' or whatever it was that the Israeli regime were feteing him for recently ..... and given Douglas' well known proclivities, I'm sure he'd attach some rainbow ribbons to it as well, to further impress Mr. Southgate and the English FA..

If Murray's thesis fails any test then it would be the fence that all neo-conservatives fall at, that is: the claim that Islam is the root of all evil and if only we could make all Islamists disappear everything would be be hunky-dory. And that the pathway to making that happen is signposted: 'This Way to Rampant Judeophilia'.
As Euros 2024 clearly demonstrate Muslims are not the sole or even the chief incursionists. You'd have to be thinking of English county cricket to put forward any such claim.

I'm pleasantly surprised that England are still in. Penalties are traditionally our weakest thing.

STONE THE KROOS !Oh Toni, how could you ? The Germany and Real Madrid star has revealed he's not entirely comfortable with the massive influx of new Germans. Kroos who has just about come to the end of a very long and successful spell with the mighty Real Madrid in Spain, even goes on to say that he and his family will now be staying on in Spain rather than returning to Germany to live, siting his young daughter's safety as a pivotal consideration, as he reflects on safety concerns on the streets of current day Germany. Let's just hope they haven't got overcrowded prisons as well, and need to turf a load of criminals back out into Society, as in the UK ..... there's always somewhere worse Toni ! link - Germany Has Been Overwhelmed By Migrants, Declares Toni Kroos
Earlier in the interview, before the issue of migration was raised, Kroos said he would be staying in Spain after retiring from Real Madrid, in part because he didn’t feel his home country was safe enough for his daughter. He said he felt that Germany had become less secure since he left, and was now concerned his child would not come back “unharmed” from a night out alone. Kroos told the Lanz & Precht podcast: “I think Germany is a great country and I’m happy to be here, but it’s not really the same country that it was 10 years ago when we left.” The central midfielder said that when his seven-year-old daughter gets older, he would rather she goes out in a Spanish city at 11pm than a German one. He added that if he moved back to Germany he would be concerned about his daughter coming home from a night out, a feeling that he “wouldn’t have had that 10 years ago”.

A bit of Spanish sunstroke perhaps, the Germans voted to change Germany forever, didn't they? so, he has no cause to complain.

It was more or less inevitable that the Pastor would have to do something to wipe the slate after the debacle in 2021. Perhaps future penalty takers will be more racially balanced in future in terms of representation in the squad.
Don't you think that would be a good thing, or do you think that blacks are naturally superior spot-kick takers?

Are you disappointed that Spain's victory over France last night removed the possibility of an over 80% (France vs Holland) or an over 2/3 (vs England) black participation in the Euros final.
At 'best', if Holland win, blacks will 'only' be 50% otherwise 'just' a third if England make the final.
