Because they are fucking crap. It's only the nut zero idiot's who purchase the things and then afterwards regret their decision. It's our products which are fucking crap and also the EU's products. This is why they need tariffs. Fancy paying double for your car to benefit Tata? I don't. LOL but you don't need a car, so why push somebody's else's junk on everyone else. Which incidentally relies on Western nations believing it is for the greater good, which the Chinese actually don't believe a word of.

As i pointed out above, my experience with the Chinese playboy that bought my employer so he could source genuine trim parts to fit to his tractor powered land-rover knockoffs was that his laminated wood products made in the province next to Wuhan and shipped here, where he pretended they were made in Abergavenny, to the point of affixing barcodes with a fraudulent country of origin label, was that the items were so poorly made that Volvo and JLR cancelled the contract with us, and threatened to cancel our metal trim parts supply contracts Chinese made crap nearly sank the company.

We cannot afford the levels of subsidy that the Chinese Government are pumping into their manufacturers. Our country does not own any mass produced car manufacturers. Why do you support Indian firms over Chinese firms? This is what socialists do. They fight the market and right now the Brits are taking a shine to Chinese EVs. Look in simple terms what goes on in the world is each day China generates $2billion dollars of surplus cash and the US borrows $2 billion. If we let the market run its course then our shity Indian manufacturers will go bust and the factories will be sold to successful firms like BYD and Geeley. This in turn will increase UK car production. We will profit out of it in a big way. It helps bring prices down and the cost of living. Even if you don't own a car, the reducing cost of transport would make things like delivery cheaper. I really can't believe how socialist you are!

I'm saying soviet control of the market will impoverish us, as if we need to get any poorer.

Surely you have come across the principle of caveat emptor? We businessmen employ it all the time we are working.
The thing is I regularly shop in China and indeed some shopping of mine just flew into Blighty last night, so I know what the products are like and I say they are nearly always between satisfactory and higher. This current order is because I did not go to B and Q where instead of paying 15 quid I would have paid 53 for the same things, so again it is your responsibility to check the deal.

China is knocking out tons of fake goods, they flooding every market in the world, it's a multi-billion industry, and they don't give a fuck if they are highly dangerous, including kids toys, their fake chargers a burning down houses, they have no empathy for human life, their human rights track record speaks for itself.

You have no idea what is going on. It seems you are the one suffering with lack of knowledge bvl. The earth doesn't revolve around China. Right now China is taking over the world and I'm not joking. We here in Blighty had better be educated on this matter because virtually none of it is reported in any sensible way in the British press. A lot of the stuff I say that is disagreed with is disagreed with out of ignorance. People keep trying to hope that China is just a low cost shitty manufacturer of cheap and unreliable things that are mis-sold. This view might have had some traction in the past, but not now. Another truism which we as a nation need to confess to is our abilities to manage stuff is totally shite and is the number one reason why we have failed. Our proud nation likes to go around and pass the buck on someone else, but this time it is the Brits who have fucked up and they had better realise it or they will continue to do more and more stupid stuff.
At this very time we do not appear to be saying we will increase tariffs, but my suspicion is when Starmer gets in he will be right up the US' arse and just destroy us. We have already been destroyed by Blair, so the concern is real. Conversely if we are cool and say to China, no we are not going to follow the EU, then China will respond positively and we will see a boost in FDI which will create good jobs and earn us some desperately needed money. Once we have made some money we can then fix the shitty NHS and kit it out with the latest tech. Otherwise without money we can not do a thing. It will all be hot air and ever-worsening services, all the way down the road to the Third World.

I'm just the weatherman. If you ignore my advice to pack an umbrella by looking to see that the sun is shining right now then it's not the weatherman who will have the problem. You can't wish those black clouds away. China is the worst culprit for pumping shit into our oceans and atmosphere... Those car batteries you guys harped on about for 50 pages cos they generate massive waste is now irrelevant. China has facilities where the manufacturer recycles 99%.
You really don't get how China works. It is the culture that believes very highly in education and always has done, even thousands of years ago. That's the trick. The kids work very hard at school. The reason so many wear glasses is because they read so much. It would blow you away to see how smart thee young kids are, and they are often bilingual at an early age. However the master strategy involves producing millions of STEM graduates and they are inventing technology all the time. This is what gives them the power. Sooner or later you will be forced to see it. They will get so far ahead that the US will fall into ruin. For example, look at South America. 20 years ago nearly every region had more US firms than Chinese. Now it is the complete opposite way around with about 95% of the land with more Chinese. And that is in the US' on back yard as they call it. Over in Africa it is a similar story.
