Those that want to re-join which I am very much against may find that the EU may refuse or delay that happening for years, by which time the EU could well collapse, the Scots if they do leave the Union are assuming the EU will allow then to join the EU, same thing they may refuse or delay that decision

I think that you'd be surprised. There's a many in the EU who didn't want us to leave and hope that we return. Of course we are currently looking for growth in the UK, and the biggest factor has been the loss of the single market. Of course, it is possible to rejoin the single market without having to join the EU. I wonder if that is what the politicians will end up with. I'd certainly welcome that as a compromise.

I'm surprised no political party is advocating rejoining EFTA - I'd have thought that quite an easy half-way house to sell.

For the medium term it's a busted flush. What we should focus on right now is keeping that deal with have with the EU, learning the lessons of that corrupted referendum and punishing the guilty in the Electoral Commission that corrupted it.

I'd prefer to put it behind us and say after 6 years Brexit isn't bringing the rewards we hoped. I wonder if the EU would prefer the pragmatic option of having one of the biggest economies re-join. They must know how close the vote was and the shenanigans that went on.

But I've heard we were to have the freedom to make better trade deals and increase our exports. Reduce immigration and scrap hundreds of oppressive regulations.

I see. What are you hoping to get out of joining the EU? Full access to the single market. Party to the EU trade deals. Easier faster travel around the continent. Ooh and a more stable pound would be nice.
