Left extremism. Biological males can be women if they feel like it. Racial hatred of white people. Importing radical ideas from the US. Identity politics in general. Obtuseness regarding the danger of uncontrolled immigration . That’s for starters . If I suggested that there is extremism on the Right of politics would you recognise that ?

I would accept that it was a meaningless suggestion . Just an attempt to make a banal statement appear profound . The reality is that there is always extremism in extreme positions .

But you have just said dont read what Reform are saying how do you know they are a right wing party?. Obviously you are relying on someone else to tell you that - I'm simply asking who that is? I referred to the fact that I avoid reading right-wing literature. (at 83 I have had a fill of it) Are you claiming that Reform UK is not a right-wing party ? So it is not extremism per se that you avoid it is what you regard as RW literature from a RW group. I would have thought RW was not extremism in the current climate as most people veer to RW views on most subjects.

I'm not commenting on Reform one way or the other - I'm simply trying to find out where you get the idea they are Right-wing from if you refuse to read any of their literature. Obviously someone told you - who? If this guy is a secret don't worry about it.

Right wing? Seriously 😁 we must become a low tax, smartly regulated, high growth economy.' 'Our police need to focus on preventing crime and catching criminals, not woke nonsense.' I’d say centre I would have thought low tax was right wing? I would have thought public service provision was left wing? I would have thought that good provision of services whilst keeping spending reasonable is centrist. The austerity we had in the teenie and looks likely to return is right wing. I wonder where you would place Boris based on his tax and spend, next to Corbyn I suspect! Exactly. How Bentley sees small government and reduced caring for others interests as 'centre' is quite amazing as they are the classic right wing preferences.

I can see small government is but I would disagree that 'reduced caring for others' is. It is more a focus on personal responsibility.

I don't think that it is fair to imply that reduced caring for others is a right wing trait, it is true that a buoyant economy will help people take care of themselves, but it is the Tory Government that has poured money into the NHS, much to the detriment of the NHS as this abundance of cash has allowed them to fund a uncontrolled bureaucracy.

This raises many issues. Families used to give reciprocal support when communities were cohesive and families could find jobs and homes close to their local area. The EU, mass immigration, leftish social policies, and the denigration of the family unit have contributed for half a century to the destruction of the stable community and replaced it with isolated outposts where family and community support is expected to be provided by government and not part of the local responsibility of the people themselves. I do not pretend the 60s/70s were the halcyon days but in some respects it worked. The past is indeed a foreign country where the good was destroyed along with the bad by those leading us to their brave new world.

Woke is about caring for the interests of others and how your actions might affect them. Reform in their own words want the government to be anti Woke
(Probably because Reform is now the party led by ignoramuses who think 'Woke' is what the Daily Express thinks it is)

Reform in their own words want the government to be anti Woke (Probably because Reform is now the party led by ignoramuses who think 'Woke' is what the Daily Express thinks it is) If you realise it is being used as an umbrella term for individuals who are engrossed by social justice and think of themselves as saviours with a moral high ground, but who remain willfully ignorant to the irrationality of their claims and the problems they create, then you are being rather dishonest. If you don't then you aren't too bright. Which is it I wonder......

Oh yes the term has been hijacked by losers of all extremes but it's really not too much to expect a serious political party to use it correctly and Reform Uk's failure to do so just shows they are a bunch of reactionary idiots

Dont understand your post . How wrong i can get what? im neither a brexiter or anglo remainer .
My point is democracy is a fairly easy concept to understand , especially in the so called civilised world. If you cant or wont understand how it works , and insist on throwing rattle out of prams when losing and re running votes before they are implemented , then that isnt my fault.
The rest of us know right from wrong.
No, your point was that I am upset by Brexit and I don't like losing. Hence my reply. Many Many years ago I understood that if something happened that I disagreed with I should do something about it, if there was nothing I could do about it then I should just accept it and get on with my life. That's what I have done with Brexit, partly because I still don't know whether Brexit was right or wrong for the UK. Only time will tell. Mind you that doesn't stop me from having an occasional dig at those who voted for Brexit. You are upset by brexit , and i voted remain.

There is no need for you to prove just how wrong you can get it ^^ but if you insist on doing it then that's just fine with me Dont understand your post . How wrong i can get what? im neither a brexiter or anglo remainer .

I'm fascinated by the fact that you feel that democracy involves me not being able to voice my opinion until some arbitrary point as determined by you. That is NOT how democracy works.

Everyone is free to voice an opinion .What remainers were not free to do in a so called democratic society is overturn a democratic vote before it was implemented. That was my gripe , watching events between 2016 and 2019.
That way lies anarchy and chaos , and we have seen from history , especially northern ireland , how when people feel they cant trust the ballot box they resort to violence.
