Labour haven't signed a new treaty. Their decision to cut interest rates has caused inflation to rise though.
We would lose the power to set interest rates if we ever went back in as we'd have to rejoin the ERM and ultimately, the Euro. The currency union doesn't work. It needs full fiscal union to work and that needs full democracy. It needs the EU to become a fully functional country. A unitary democracy.
That requires the Commission to be replaced by elected politicians.
The EU is not democratic. It is a complete and total mess.
