The Hate Crime and Public Order (Scotland) Act

Isn’t that akin to sexual discrimination? What if it is a man who does this rather than a woman?

First you  fecking rant England did not have a hate crime bill.  Which has been in Force for years.  And for your info  Mr stupid the Public order Act is a English law and does not apply in Scotland. Never has and never will. And that act was modified in England in 2006 and again in 2008.  Which contained what is now in the Scottish act.  You have had the links several times. In 2020/2021, 2,630 Hate Crimes against transgender people in England were recorded by the Police, an increase of 16% from the previous year (Home Office, 2021). This number is still severely underreported because out of 108,100 responses to the National LGBT Survey, 88% of transgender people did not report the most serious type of incident. 48% of transgender people were not satisfied with the Police response after reporting the most serious types of incidents.Transgender people are more likely to experience threats of physical or sexual harassment or violence compared with the LGBT community as a whole (National LGBT Survey, Government Equalities Office). Most transphobic incidents reported to Stop Hate UK were verbal abuse, threatening behaviour, harassment and anti-social behaviour, such as having derogatory terms shouted at them, having invasive or inappropriate questions asked of them or facing harassment from neighbours, co-workers or strangers. The Crown Prosecution Service lists transphobic hate crimes as the below; "Any incident/criminal offence which is perceived, by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by a hostility or prejudice against a person who is transgender or perceived to be transgender". Jings Mr stupid I wonder what Transgender Hate crime in England means. In stupidity you are in a class of your own.  Oh look it is recorded by the Police.  So Mr Stupid as you look at a English law.  Then try to rant it applies in Scotland. In term of your bollocks about the power of the police.  Scotland is a funny place.  it is the police who investigate crime. It is the court who convict. You know when you ranted the former FM had  the police in her hands. Her problem being that the new law does not go far enough and should introduce  woman, as being protected. There is already law in Scotland re that. And last but not least Mr stupid.  Oh look The law in England recognises five types of hate crime on the basis of: Race, Religion, Disability, Sexual orientation, Transgender identity. The police and the CPS have agreed the following definition for identifying and flagging hate crimes:  (oh look the police are now doing that in Scotland } "Any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person, to be motivated by hostility or prejudice, based on a person's disability or perceived disability; race or perceived race; or religion or perceived religion; or sexual orientation or perceived sexual orientation or transgender identity or perceived transgender identity."  That matey has applied in England for years. Why do you feel a continual need to make a total prat of yourself. And I am still waiting on all this evidence you have when you slastered the former FM stole £600,000 and the present gave Hamas money to allow his family out of Gaza. These unfortunate people are not women to me either. However, I do accept that there are some tortured souls out there who absolutely feel to their very core that they are women despite the physical evidence to the contrary. I have tried to imagine what it would feel like if I had to live life perpetually confronted with that devastatingly painful contradiction and I can see that it must be unbearable, so I find their position, based upon their perspective, understandable, not ridiculous. I feel genuine pity for them, wish them peace of mind, and am prepared to accommodate their view up to the point where it does not clash with the rights, well-being and security of women and girls - as I hope we all do.

Police Scotland has received more than 3,000 hate crime reports since a new law was introduced on Monday, the BBC understands.



It creates a new crime of "stirring up hatred" over protected characteristics.



A large number were about a 2020 speech by First Minister Humza Yousaf - then justice secretary - highlighting white people in prominent public roles.



Community Safety Minister Siobhian Brown said people were making "fake and vexatious complaints".



Police Scotland said complaints about Mr Yousaf's speech were assessed at the time, with no crime committed and no action taken. The new law will not apply retrospectively.


Scotland's new hate crime law comes into force


Hate crime reports are handled by the force's Contact, Command and Control centres.



These have been extremely busy but are understood to be coping with the number of complaints



Ms Brown told BBC Radio's Good Morning Scotland programme that "misinformation" and publicity had led to the high number of reports.



She also confirmed that a "fake complaint" was made using her name and contact details on Monday.
