If that someone is a major donor to a political party, especially if the sums involved are so large that they smell of undue influence of a kind most of us vaguely regard as a bit corrupt, then when that someone spouts racist and extremist opinions it matters. Were he someone who uttered such opinions without donating large sums, no one would care nearly so much, just another racist of a kind that exists all over the place. It is the fact of someone with such obviously obnoxious views buying substantial influence in one of our main political parties that makes it the serious issue it is. Unless the Tories outlaw Black Women, what influence do you think his opinion of Diane Abbott has had? The Tories being know for being so racist that they would never have an ethnic minority leader and 2 out of the three people favourites to replace him also from ethnic minorities - they are one step away from being the BNP I tell ya.. We will never be allowed to know what influence his money has had, but accepting vast sums from obvious racist extremists is surely dodgy. If it was Labour taking the money you'd be saying so yourself.

Because what he said in an unguarded moment is obviously more likely to be representative of his true feelings than something he is saying publicly to try and get himself out of the shit. Well confession time here I once after dealing with some very obstructive council officials said “they should all be taken out and shot” I should point out they were all white and I didn’t wish them executed. Its a figure of speech like “my feet are killing me” when you’ve been on them too long, people at times say things that shouldn’t be taken literally. On another thread I made the point that what I find more inappropriate is the massive sum of money given and not given for nothing it’s corrupt, that Abbott whinges about racism when she’s said the things she has about Jews that Gethin took money from a twice convicted environmental crim and he says he won’t give the money back but is still Welsh first minister. Dont you think politicians accepting bribes donations is more worrying or the hypocrisy of calling racism when you’ve said much the same,we are approaching the point that the white population of this country can’t say much without being called racist but others can and do say what they like. Doing some voluntary work an Iranian woman told me much the same “I’m Iranian I can say what you can’t” I would say I was gobsmacked and years ago I probably would’ve been but not now,if you think me racist for what I’ve just said is up to you and I’m not going to protest my innocence I don’t have to because I know what I think and why and ain’t going to justify. Whataboutery is no excuse for Hester's obviously racist opinions. As for the vast sums involved, I have long held the view that this ability of the super rich to buy political influence, and eventually usually a seat in the upper chamber of our legislature for life, is inherently corrupt. I tend to think that all political donations from individuals, businesses and other organisations and unions, should be abolished. Membership fees only backed by state funding based upon share of the vote. Buying influence and seats in our legislature should be done away with. The cost to taxpayers would be chickenfeed compared to the cost of government expenditure as a whole and a very small price to pay for preventing such obvious legal corruption. You could easily fund it simply by having a couple of hundred fewer cronies in the second chamber.

Abbot really doesn’t seem to be the smartest cookie in the jar. I’ve no idea how racist she is, but the overplaying of the victim card is what I think a lot of people see as a fuelling racial tensions rather than resolution of them. Yes. The constant pointing up of racial differences (aka shouting "Racist" at everything) is of itself racist. The victims of racism are themselves racist for complaining so loudly about it? If you say so.

On page 3 now, and no one has mentioned how Hoyle prevented Abbott from speaking at Wednesday's PMQs. She had to sit and watch as other MPs spoke about the situation. Not once did Hoyle look Abbot's way despite the numerous times she stood up, ready to give her own side of the story. It was a disgrace. Following on from his Labour supporting action of the previous week this ridiculous action shows that Hoyle has lost it. He should be dismissed from the post. after the shit that came down on Hoyle's head the last time he ignored the rules and customs of the house it's not surprising that he is now sticking to the letter.

On a side note, if those "obvious racist extremists" are so naughty, I wonder why we've 'offensive archaeology' five years later about it.

What 'wider audience'? - he is a private citizen who is entitled to hold whatever views he likes. My view is that Jeremy Corbyn is terrorist supporting scum - are you suggesting that I am not allowed to hold that view? Have you a list of these views and opinions that we are allowed to hold? If those views are racist and extremist, as even your own party belatedly acknowledges that they are, such views matter if he is using vast sums to influence our politics. If Labour accepted money from a holocaust denier, a communist, or an Islamic extremist, you'd be all over it with the utmost glee. Thing is, I would be too because I do not harbour partisan double standards.Your own party was accepting money from a Chinese Spy.. partisan double standards are the name of the game..

That was the one good thing that hoyle ever did fellow BRIT and BTW it was posted on another thread how hoyle did the right thing keeping the racist vitual signnaling arsehole silent... Because one poster backed Hoyle's action does not make it tenable, and I'm sure other posters pointed that out. His antics very much put in doubt his ability to act impartially. Indeed his suitability for the post is in serious doubt

The victims of racism are themselves racist for complaining so loudly about it? If you say so. Abbot's not a victim. She's a serial perpetrator. I do not believe she has called upon anyone she dislikes to be shot, certainly not another elected representative. Nor has she used dislike of a particular individual to state that it makes her hate entire ethnic groups. And her supposed dislike of white people is mostly tongue in cheek. Because rumour has it that she had no qualms about shagging one of them who went by the name of Corbyn, lol In any case perpetrators can also be victims. If I come along one day and punch you in the mouth, I am a perpetrator. If Pacifico comes along some other day and punches me in the mouth I am a victim I do not cease to have been a victim simply because on an earlier occasion I was a perpetrator. Perpetrators can on other occasions be victims too, as can victims on other occasions be perpetrators. More simply, two wrongs do not make a right.

Ms Abbott has in the past made the observation that England is great except for the white people, some may find that rather racist but it now does seem to be incorporated into school curriculums. Some people can say anything they like, but if you are a white Tory donor you can't. Maybe Sunak will give him a peerage in his leaving honours list, that would kick it all off. Yes but she says it in a rather playful way, as an intellectual plays with ideas. It's not meant to insult but to stimulate an argument that defeats her argument. She might say something like well why should we not have a black prime minister - I think it is a great idea myself. It's to draw out the counter augments of your opponent. One pisser where she always has a grin on her face is the opponent is handicapped because some of the strongest reasons he might proffer in response would cause an uproar, and probably get him arrested, such as to point out how Africa is stupid and you can prove it by its history of non-development. That's a sound argument intellectually, but take those away by law and she is grinning. You get the idea. She finds it rather funny how the Brits have given people like her undue power. You can't blame her, can you. She didn't give herself power. When she was younger she was an object of celebration, as per Britain's first black MP or something. I don't think there is a thing playful about the lady whatsoever. Corbyn used her as a sex object to prove to his peers he had no problems fucking black women.
