And more wasted money...
A cash-strapped council has been criticised for painting bike signs on a residential road with no cycle lane while a number of potholes remain unfixed.
Despite a lack of a cycle lane in Windham Road, Bournemouth, more than a dozen of the large bike symbols have appeared in the middle of the highway.
The local council in Bournemouth says the white markings serve to act as a “visual reminder to drivers that cyclists may be using this road”.
Phil Mountford, 44, a bank worker, added: “There’s no bike lane and cars don’t speed down the road because of the speed humps so they are a bit redundant.
“The council is apparently cash-strapped and things like this probably explain why.
“Not far from here there are some dreadful potholes, which are worse for cyclist safety."

Nigel Farage hails 'rise of Reform UK' hitting highest-ever vote share in bombshell poll...... Reform UK has hit its highest-ever vote share in a new poll as the insurgent party closes in on the Tories. The YouGov survey put the rebranded Brexit Party up one point from last week on 16%. Reform is just five points behind the Conservatives on 21% in the survey carried out from March 26 to 27.

If you take "literaly" the results of one poll, you are throwing caution to the wind, and allthough YouGov tend to be one of the more accurate polling organisations, its best to look at the trend.
A different set of results was published only this afternoon by DeltaPoll which shows Reform UK on 11 points
The "Trend" useing all published polls done between 7th and 26th February by Electoral Calculous puts Reform UK on 10.2% ... though it has to be said that this is probably out of date, with Electoral Calculous about to update their predictions any day now.
AS an experiment I have used the on-line prediction tool at Electoral Calculous, I used the YouGov poll figures, but took a point away from Labour and gave it to Reform ( 17 points ), and left the Lib Dems and Conservatives as they are.
The result with Reform on 17 points is that they would probably win two seats ... Rochdale and Torbay

I am just reporting on the latest one...And today our Nige has stated the most positive statement yet about joining reform...

He needs to take an active part and stand as an MP

I think we actually agree that there would be some extra paint, and probably a bit extra time too. But we're not talking about 10s of thousands of pounds here, so to give it as a reason for councils having no money is hyperbolic. But if Councils have your attitude then it's only a 'few 10s of thousands' on everything - and suddenly all those 'few 10s of thousands' start adding up. Either you have a responsible attitude to spending taxpayers money or you don't. Forget paint, what about EDI spending that was over £20 Million by Councils in the last financial year - is that a good reason for Councils being short of money? They are also an issue for guide dogs and those with sight loss RNIB Scotland Director, James Adams, said: “Traditional black and white pedestrian crossings offer high contrast, which is essential for people with low vision to detect and cross roads safely. Designs and colours which are not consistent with traditional designs could cause confusion to people with sight loss, and to guide dogs which are trained to stop at crossings.
"It will make guide dog training very difficult, and the appearance of colourful crossings overnight is likely to have immediate impacts on a guide dog’s willingness to cross the road," he said.www.rnib.org.uk/news/multi-coloured-road-crossings-pose-a-threat-to-people-with-sight-loss-warn-charities/

Who would have thought that a party with a history of deceit, lies and an apparent right-wing approach, could be a threat to an extremely dishonest Conservative party?
