So you never read the quote from the link I posted then 😁 Why was you making a pointless statement About fidding taxes when the thread about fraud? From the link “Benefit fraud can take many forms, such as pretending to be ill or injured to claim unemployment or disability benefits, not reporting income from a job or business, or living with someone who helps pay the bills without telling the authorities.” lol.

Can anyone explain how Pension Fraud could happen - as far as I can see the only way would be an inside job in the DWP.

I can see a pensioner having a side hustle or undeclared income( ie a private pension ) and claiming extra benefits they are not entitled too. But that is not pension fraud - that is welfare fraud (which is incredibly common). The only way that I can see that pension fraud would occur is if you had a larger pension than the years of NI contributions would entitle you too. And the only way that could happen is with the connivance of employees in the DWP. I doubt that this would happen very much - in fact I would expect it to be extremely rare.

I stop digging if l was you Which is true . “The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has clarified which bank accounts it will be looking through in a huge crackdown against benefit fraud. New rules will mean the government department can comb through some benefit claimants' accounts, in order to ensure claims are correct. Over the coming tax year, the DWP will be measuring the following benefits for fraud and error: Universal Credit, Housing Benefit (pension age cases) and Pension Credit, as well as State Pension, Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and Disability Living Allowance (DLA). Benefit fraud can take many forms, such as pretending to be ill or injured to claim unemployment or disability benefits, not reporting income from a job or business, or living with someone who helps pay the bills without telling the authorities.” So for the sake of the doofus . The DWP are looking through selected benefit claimants accounts , including state pension to check for fraud . Pensions are only a part of a general crackdown .

Yes they can claim Disability benefits there not entitled to make a false claim. Live with a Child without letting the DWP know or have a Child pay their Bills without letting the DWP now Bentley post highlight what there looking for. But Bentley thinks pensioners can't do such things

Then there’s nothing to find then . The fact is that all benefit and state pension claimants seem to be liable to be checked . Pensions are only a small part of it . Which makes the OP somewhat disingenuous.
