For only 6.5% of the population the Muslim vote seems to be very important to people and parties whose core values and based around identity politic. That being said, the Labour party has quite rightly distanced itself from this Muslim conspiracy theorist and they know this will be damaging, and you can bet they were reluctant to withdraw support for this candidate. Is this the beginning of the end of Labour's love affair with the Muslim vote? As the 6.5% of the Muslim population steadily grows in time, and with Muslims falling out of love with a pandering Labour party I think it is safe to expect a Muslim campaign to get independent Muslim candidates to run in the future. www.middleeasteye.net/news/labour-30000-dead-gazans-too-late-muslim-campaign-aims-disrupt-british-politicsPro-Palestine, pro-Muslim, pro-Islam. Let's hope in generations to come the population of this nation isn't so, that the Islamic Republic of Great Britain comes to fruition. I am a white, indigenous, Christian British person who is Pro the Palestinian cause, and bitterly opposed to what the cowardly Israeli Defence Force are now doing, I have absolutely nothing against either Jews or Muslims, and there are many people like me. The campaign in Rochdale should be primarily about Rochdale, and about domestic issues. No matter what the opposition Labour stance is on the Gaza conflict, it wouldnt make any difference to what is happening there.

And yet, Ali has vocally made the issue of Palestine more important than the issue of Rochdale. And the Labour party have been fretting about the Muslim vote due to its stance on Gaza, so it probably will make a difference to their votes.

Absolutely no blame what so ever can be put on either Keir Starmer or the Labour Party, the only person to blame is the candidate himself "Azhar Ali". There may, or may not be some truth in Azhar Ali's claims, was he taken in by what may have been a Conspiracy Theory WHICH WAS floating around, there is no doubt about that. The candidate should not have repeated or espoused the story which had been floating around, he did not have the common sense or foresight to Fact Check the story, he was a fool. What angers me is that the term "Anti Semitism" has been raised in this story, yet Azher Ali has not said anything that could even remotely classed as been Anti Semetic. The term Anti Semetic DOES NOT mean to be Anti Israel, Anti the Israeli government or Anti the Israeli Defence Forces. Anti Semetic specifically and exclusively means Anti Jewish, and I wish that people and politicians would stop been dishonest, and refrain from calling someone anti semitic, when they are not. It is on record that Mr Ali has always spoken out against anti semetism, and has campaigned against anti semetism, and any politician who attempts to tar the candidate with anti semetism is attempting to make political gain in a very dishonest way. Come on, it is obvious what has happened here. He was pandering to a specific audience, so fed them some antisemitic meat to take off some of heat he was getting over Starmer's refusal to call for a ceasefire. Labour disagree with you, they say promoting a conspiracy theory that suggests Israel would allow over a thousand of its children and women to be raped, tortured and murdered just so they could invade Gaza is antisemitic. His previous record counts for nothing. He repeated a antisemitic conspiracy and that is why he had to go. There is more shit coming out of Rochdale, one of the Labour local election candidates has been videoed calling Starmer a "war criminal" lol.

This is Starmer's biggest crisis as Labour leader - and there may be worse to come.... There will now be an almighty inquest into how a candidate who had made such comments about Israel and Gaza was selected for such a high-profile by-election. Defending Rochdale was never going to be easy for Labour. Sir Tony Lloyd's majority at the 2019 general election was 9,668, with the Conservatives in second place...

And now Labour withdraws support for Azhar Ali.
“Given that nominations have now closed, Azhar Ali cannot be replaced as the candidate.”

This will be a constant cause of infighting in any Labour government.
Good.

There is more shit coming out of Rochdale, one of the Labour local election candidates has been videoed calling Starmer a "war criminal" lol. Sorry, but you are completely wrong Mr Ali repeated a theory which was all over social media, that Israel ( The STATE of Israel ) not Jewish people, had ignored warnings about a possible attack, and that The State or Government of Israel had ignored those warnings, because they knew that it would be a perfect excuse to wipe Gaza of the map, which is seemingly what the IDF are doing. If you believe that subscribing to such a theory constitutes Anti Semetism, then you clearly need to research what Anti Semetism REALLY means. Mr Ali may be a fool, and he may have made unfounded statements, but he has not stated anything which is anti semetic. It seems to me that the state of Israel, and its Far Right government, are attempting to shut down valid criticism by using the Anti Semetism card. In my opinion the government of Israel are criminals, War Criminals, and no better than the Russians in Ukraine, but I will be damned if you can turn my opinion against me and suggest that I am Anti Semitic.
